Why does the board prohibit the discussion of cuban cigar sources for Americans, but not the discussion of smoking cuban cigars by Americans.

From what I understand, both are equally illegal.

I'm not trying to challenge any rules, just wanting to understand the rationale.

Have a look at the last couple of "source" related threads that snuck through. No good comes of it, good sources are called out for selling fakes and crap vendors get pushed as legit.

Openly discussing where you are buying your illegal product is bad regardless of what the illegal product is. If I say that I'm smoking a big "doobie" right now on a public forum, it won't draw much attention. If I say I just bought a bag of crack on the corner of West and 5th then that is going to bring bad attention.

Oh, I should have mentioned, I don't believe it's illegal for an American to smoke a Cuban cigar. It's illegal to pay for a Cuban Cigar, ie. trading with the enemy.

US citizens are prohibited from "purchasing, transporting, importing, or otherwise dealing in or engaging in any transactions with respect to any merchandise of Cuban origin"

CA won't take any heat for someone smoking a CC. They will take the heat for promoting the sales of...

Discussing the 'mythology' of a cuban cigar is not illegal (right?).
