Hi All,

My family and i hosted my dads 80th Birthday over the weekend, some 50 Guests (extended family) and some friends, great food , Great Music etc. Dads had a tough life being a European but Bred in Egypt as the eldest Son, he started full time work at Age 12 to support the rest of his brothers and sisters (8 in total). was deported when Nasser expelled all foriegn families (English and French) even many such as my dads family were a few Generation born in Egypt. Etc etc. so my first words to him in the morning was (So Dad, You made it) and yes he saw the humor.

night was busy and went very well but i needed to select a classic smoke for such a special occasion, i could not decide between the DC or the Submlime,

Sublime it was on saturday, and was simply amazing and i feel, getting better. Rich, balanced earthy and complex. i dont like doing this but for those who like it i would rate in a 95 + 1 or 2 extra points due to the quality and atmosphere of the night (97 total)

following day (left over day) Prawns oyster etc, with just my Sisters and dad, and thought to fire up the DC after lunch (and espresso).

this was again fantastic, great flavors, balanced and earthy but i felt not as complex as the Sublime, (about a 92)

for me the Sublime is outshining the DCs, and not just by a little,

for many of you that have both, i would love our thoughts should you have smoked both recently.

cheers

spiro

PS, also celebrating the win of 2 aussies in teh MOTO GP and the F1 (i knew we it would be a good weekend)

I have to say I prefer the DC.
The sublime is a great smoke but big, really big! They are both primo sticks, I just give the edge to the DC.

Congratulations! The Cohiba DC is an odd cigar for me. I bought 2 boxes on release & for the first year they were one of the best cigars I ever smoked- strong, rich tasting, just wonderful. Then they went into a funk & have never been the same. Still an hoping they will recover. As for the Sublime, only ever smoked one. Fine cigar, but i'll make no general opinion on only one.
