AND sets a bad example for school kids visiting the capitol!!

A story runs today in the Sacramento Bee about some complications following a substantial thunderstorm that blew through town the other day. You see, Gov. "I'll be back" Arnold set up a patio tent specifically for smoking cigars. The tent apparently covered an area that included a drain for the patio, and as a consequence, a couple of offices suffered water damage!

Not only that, groups are complaining that the activities going on in the tent (cigar smoking and.....?) sends the wrong message to kids visiting the capitol, seeing such a role model engaging in an activity where billions of dollars are spent on anti-smoking campaigns that are supposed to teach people that smoking is bad.

Where's Rob Reiner when you need him? Where's Ralph Nader? Where's Willie Brown????

And some people say, "it's just a cigar!!!!"

These local parochial cigar smoking issues always peek our interest up here in French speaking North America.

Keep them coming that's what I am here for.

Now who is William Brown? I know of ex CA Gov Jerry Brown but William is a mystery to meo. I'm to lazy to Google it so can one of you enlighten me?

So the drains were plugged but the Cubans were not.

Quality does not occur by chance. It is the result of intelligent activities.

I’ll call my father-in-law, he’ll take care of that smoking, ahh, was going to call him a name, but than remember that I’m switching party this year and voting republican, so I better be nice to my new buddies. Well, maybe I shouldn’t bother with my father-in-law either. Big Grin

Good smoking. Igator

QM...Willie Brown (Democrat) is a very colorful ex-speaker of the California State Assembly and Mayor of San Francisco. Think he was a trial lawyer once who got rich on some questionable cases...a first rate pol in the smoked filled room sense...at one point, the most powerful black politician in America...he has the reputation of liking to have a good time...don't like his politics, but definitely an interesting character...

Mayor of San Francisco, the REAL 'Slick Willie,' former California Assembly Speaker, with almost 40 years experience in the California legislature...1 of only 4 African Americans in the legislature in his first term, had unprecedented power as Speaker, and gained much notoriety for his outspoken and often controversial views.
