Hello Gents,
I'm in the market for a new cutter, and was wondering what model you aficionados out there prefer. I've been using a Paul Garmirian cutter that works extremely well, however it doesn't handle larger (50 ring+) gauges very well. Does anyone have experience with the Xikar cutter? Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.
Cheers.

I own a redwood xikar cutter and love it. I was a bit on the pricey side, but the additional weight and feel are a great bonus.

Not only a great cutter, but great customer service. I had one of my redwood handles fall off. The company replaced it at no cost after 4 years!

Xikar xI is my "go-to" cutter. I did notice last night (again) that a Siglo VI, at 52, is about the biggest gauge that it can cut. The Xikar multitool scissors works OK for larger gauge cigars. Xikar's lifetime warrantee can't be beat. I've used it.

I own the rosewood X3 and love the cut and the look. If you decide on Xikar try and get the one that says made in Germany on the blade otherwise it's made in China.

Still the same leve of great customer service.

Based on the overwhelming feedback, it looks like a safe bet to go ahead and pick out a Xikar cutter (I'll try to get one that says "Made in Germany" on the blade).
As always, your experience and efforts are much-appreciated! My sincere thanks to all, and happy smoking . . . I'll look forward to the first cut!
Cheers.

I've always used a Zino double guillotine cutter. It's worked very well for me and I've had it for years. I will check out the Xikar sometime though!

I use the bottom of the line Xikar so that when I lose it there is not too much regret.
I have found several 2 for 1 offers on this model as well.

Wow. An overwhelming vote for Xikar it seems. I've never used one of their cutters but when my birthday rolls around I'll know what hints to drop.

I've used an Adorini double blade for the last 2 years without any problem. It's credit card sized and fits in my wallet, meaning I'm never without a cutter, something that's impportant to me!

I bought my Xikar in 1999 and it is still as sharp as the day I got it.

I have a Xikar that works well most of the time, but ocasionally it leaves a step in the end of the cigar when it cuts. I assume this is from some blade deflection. After reading a lot of reviews I bought a Palio. The plain one can be found for $36. I like it better than the Xikar. The blades are extremely sharp and the design does not allow the blades to deflect when cutting. It is my new favorite cutter. My favorite cheapie knock around cutter is the Mean Sardine which is made by Zikar ($9). Hope this helps.
