Hello! I recently was presented with a box of Cohiba cigars. I am not very knowledgable when it comes to Limited Edition products so I am looking for some verification if they are authentic or knockoffs.
I received 1 box (25 cigars) of Cohiba Cuban 2003 Limited Edition. The box is marked Cuban and 25 Piramides. From my limited research, I have noticed that Cohiba did produce a 2003 Limited Edition run but were Double Carona.
How can I verify that the box and the contents are authentic? Are there any specific markings on the box I should be aware of? Was the 2003 Limited Edition only for the Double Carona, or were other styles produced as 2003 Limited Editions as well?
The box was purchased in Iraq (my first red flag) but I am hoping for the best. I paid $275 for the box. Any thoughts or opinions would be helpful. Thank you!
I have now been informed that the box may not be a 2003 LE as I previously stated, but may perhaps be a 2006 LE. I will try to post pics in the next day or two...
If they are in fact a 2006 Limited Edition what is your take on the cigar and price paid?

Are there 25 cigars or 10? If 25, then they are fake.
Cor: Steve, you have proven yourself to be a tremendous whack job.
We try so hard to believe they are real and want to so bad, but you already went with your gut and knew. Go with that spider sense in the back and you should not direct yourself wrong. I once sent a friend to Cuba and she was specifically told what do do, as soon as she arrived back and said she only paid 70 Cuban dollars for a box of romeo and J's churchills, i knew right then and there. Oh well lesson learned and i did so want them to be real! I could taste them, until i really did for kicks and threw the rest in the fire. Good times I say

I had some 2001 LE Pyramids and 2003 LE DC (from an AD). The bands came in an envelope 3 days later. Like an idiot I put the wrong EL labels on each cigar and smoked all the DCs with buddies on various special occasions/celebrations, etc. I now have 12 2001 EL pyramids with freaking 2003 EL bands on them. No one will ever believe they are real, but my taste buds know the truth. They are my beach vacation smoke...gotta have one at sunrise on the beach in the Carribean the first morning to kick the week off right. Ironically, I take the bands off when leaving the US anyway. It is so silly that the cigar traveled half way around the world, were air-mailed all the way back to me, then taken back to within spitting distance of their origin. That's a lot of work, but the 2001 ELs truly warrant the effort.
