When I came home for lunch today I sat back and enjoyed a Partagas Short. Well, a T-time was approaching and off I went to the course. Due to my rush to leave, I didn't air the house out very effectively. My wife, upon returning from work did not appreciate the fragrance of fine tobacco in HER house and has decided to play tit-for-tat.
Tonight she is frying dried fish she recently received from the Philippines. Oh, the horror, the disgust. The kids have locked themselves up in their room to escape the stinch. Me - I have no choice but to endure. This is war at it's worst, in the Ash household.
What should I do? Beg for mercy or ... light up another cigar?
Hmmm, that's a pretty good idea kechke. I can make an in-road here by appeasing to her inner desires (being wined and dined) while at the same time showing her where my priorities are.
You have expereince with this type of thing, no? LOL
It could be worse. Ever have a big dog do a few complete jobs in the basement where your humidor is? And remember smelling is like tasting. Its molecules wafting though the air and attaching themselves to the inside of your head or the inside of your humidor.
Yuk.

hahah.. funny.. not necessarily - tuyo (fried dried fish) is quite the delicacy in the Philippines... it's a familiar smell in the neighbourhoods there, as it's very popular on sunday mornings.
Have fun airing out your clothes - it'll take quite some time...

SmokinMike is spot on with that comment. We're talking about cultural identity here. Nothing stands between a Filipina and the delicacies of their homeland. This is one battle she has the upper hand on. I should suffer defeat now before she brings out the heavy artillary - bouga-ong (sp), fermented shrimp. So me and my habanos shall retire to the garage - maybe.
It shows I don't have that much experience with women from the Philippines. But my experience with Texan girls means I would be in the garage with you.
