it is supposed to mean someone else. thats how bad they are (cigarettes). imagine another guy doing your wife. that experience is like smoking cigarettes!. where as smoking a cigar is comparable to making love to your wife yourself, im not so sure why you dont get that?

Cigar smoking is obviously a very serious matter.

^ beacause the context is all miffed up, man. And the wording is wrong. Steve's edit made much more sense, and we wouldn't have to cringe about your wife or whoever sleeping around on you, which doesn't make sense anyway because the same person would be smoking a cigarette or a cigar...oh feck, nevermind.

The last time I heard that quote was at the 2006 (or 2005?) Habanos Festival, in Cuba, where Jeremy Irons was guest of honor.

When asked if he smoked cigarettes, he said : "Yes, but cigarettes are like "screwing", while cigars are like making love".

Including some other man in the equation (or even your wife for that matter) only makes the idea more fuzzy -- quite weirdly in fact.

Actually, it is quite illogical, unless you KNOW your wife is srewing somebody else.

As for your sales pitch, well, it looked a lot like some of the ones we've been getting from dubious sellers... I'm rather sure it is not, but, at the time, it did...

You know DJ,

Keep the tag line. Long after we forget who you are, that mental image of your bizarre tag line, which has left an indelible mark on our brains, will bring back fond memories of our wonderful conversations.

But it is unlikely that this tag line will encourage us to sleep with Tom's wife, or visit his cigar shop in Alberta.

Although, I have always wanted to visit the badlands and go fossil hunting with my kids.

We can even work on this. Have different versions of it. Like :

"Cigarettes are like lobsters copulating at the bottom of the ocean. Cigars are like eating crabcakes in Vermont."

Or

"Cigarettes are like drawing on a blank stamp. Cigars are like licking them."

With all respect, man, please don't.

To those of us in the US, such sources are precious and dearly held. Once they become known to everyone and their mother, bad things start to happen - like packages start getting confiscated and yet another distinguished vendor goes down the toilet.

For your protection and that of the American customers of sources worldwide, please do not distribute names and URL's except to trusted friends. And even then keep the best ones to yourself.

Much appreciated. And I'm sure you understand.

Reminds of a quote I heard once on the difference between Eric Clapton and Van Halen.

Listening to Eric Clapton was like getting a long, sensual massage from your wife.

Listening to Van Halen is like scoring with two dental hygienist students you met in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen.

Why didn't you write "we," if you're associated with the shop you're plugging? Owner or not, that smacks of shilling.

The PL Robusto is, however, a nice cigar.

Guys,

I hope that these cigars are authentic cause I just paid $24 Canadian for one at Thomas Hinds in Winnipeg. I'll let you know how it smokes.

I'm sure they will be. My advice would be to wait half a year or so (difficult I know). I had one recently and it was definitely going through a 'sick' period, if such a thing exists. Definite PL flavours, but muted. A very flat tasting smoke.

Thanks for the advice Did. Couldn't believe the price for cigars in Winnipeg. Even the NC's were way over-priced in my opinion.
