Just curious as to what I can expect from these. My girlfriend thought the boxes were 'cute' when she was in Spain. I need to teach her what 'cute' really means ;]
The puritos are short fill machine made little cigarillos that are good for 15 minutes or so. The taste pretty much alike so don't waste your money on the name brands. The normally come in 5 packs and cello wrapped.
The best purito's i have ever smoked are H Upmann's. They are hard to find the only place i ever seem to find them is when i am in Spain. They are a good 15 minute smoke i enjoy them when walking around shopping with the misses up in Rome.

Coming from someone who smoked more than his fair share of Puritos, let me tell you they are not all the same. They do hold their brands distinct taste. Don't expect a Churchill's or Robusto's complexity, but the brands’ flavours are there (ie. RyJ = leather, Partagas = peppery spice . . .. If you don't believe me go out and buy two or three different brands and smoke them back to back. I personally don't like the Montecristo Puritos, but the RyJ, Upmann and Partagas are alright when time is tight, it's freezing outside or I'm having a coffee at Starbucks (patio) with the girlfriend.

You're kidding right? You'll burn your fingers lighting it!
Of course I am, LOL. But it is the new trend, with shorter and shorter cigars. Who has a whole 2 minutes in today’s busy world, 45 seconds is all you get
I think poupon meant the taste of minis is the same. Because they are indeed the same whether Cohiba or La Gloria Cubana or RyJ in this case - just the degree of nastiness is slightly different. Try one of those minis so that you can say you did, and then throw them away. Keep the box for your GF.
Puritos are different. These are almost real cigars

Yea the minis, while a little different from one another unfortunately suffer from the overpowering harshness that masks the flavour. GF doesn't smoke, but my mom was able to smoke half of one, being a cigarette smoker and all.
Not to belabor the point but the fill comes from the same source...trimmings. I have tried them all and they are similarly constructed with the same taste profile. The exception is Guantanamera which is preclipped.
I have one of the Monte mini humidors. It came stocked with 25 minis and 25 clubs. I like them for quick smokes. Don't expect Edmundo flavour but they definetly taste like Cubans.

The mini's are the coolest hand rolled cigars, and the taste is not that bad.
Bought a couple of boxes for $12 each in Cuba at the Cohiba hotel. They sell for $50 here in Canada, so really not worth picking up unless you visit the island.

Steve, are you sure you'r talking about minis? I can get Cohiba minis at ~$6 per box of 10, LGC minis at ~$10 per box of 20. How can they be cheaper here than in Cuba? These are the ones as slim as cigarettes - RG 20. Is that the same thing you meant? And they suck!

In Spain last week, I can't remember the exact price but the Monte Minis were around 4 euros/box, the Cohibas not too much more. Even here in Ireland the Montes/RyJ are around 11 euro, the Cohibas about 15. Shocking to think we may be cheaper than Mexico for something.

1. Are minis hand rolled? 2. Do brands like Cohiba use the same cohiba tobacco as they do in the other sizes? I know their clippings but do they come from the same crops/fields? What about the wrapper?
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII have become, comfortably numb.
