Hi. I'm new here and i love cigars. I personally enjoya spicy, full body flavor (some of my Fav's being Rocky Patel and La Gloria Cubana). That being said, here is my question:

In the near future i will have the chance to have cuban cigars. Any kind of my choice. I have heard ggod things about the Cohiba Siglo series and Monte No. 2. I plan to get a box, what would you recomend and why?

Get a box of Partagas series P #2s. Same size as the Monte #2, have some spice to them and generally well received by Cuban cigar smokers. Cohibas can be good but you will pay a premium you don't need to spend to get an excellent cigar

It would be better IMO to round up enough singles of different CC's to equal a box and then find out what you enjoy the most...You don't want to be stuck with a box of cigars that you don't like...

I would try singles of both before you make a final decision. But having said that you pay 50% more for Cohiba's over Monti's.

The Monti #2 is a classic but may need 2 to 5 years in the humi before it reaches its full potential.

The Cohiba IV, V, and VI are all amazing and full bodied, especially the VI, but the price is also full bodied ($500 to $600 for a box of 25).

I second the Bolivar Royal Corona, it's a full bodied smoke.. with deep and complex flavours.. alos, it's price is quite attractive.

the cohiba siglo 4 and siglo 6 are excellent cigars as well.. but as Steve said.. you'll be paying quite a premium for the name.. which is OK... as the cigars are marvellous.. but there are other brands you can try that will be as enjoyable .. but for cheaper

The Trinidad line is also an excellent line of cigars (try the coloniales or the Reyes). the price is somewhere between a cohiba and a more streamlined brand (such as Hoyo de Monterrey, montecristo and Partagas).. and the cigars are rolled with "cohiba standars".. they are my favourites.

if you want a torpedo.. well I personally like the Diplomatico #2.. but the Partagas series P #2 is an excellent choice as well.. I do not care for the monte #2 at all.. I think it's way over-hyped.. very inconsistent.. and requires lots of time to settle.... so I'd stay away from these....

for a robusto.. well you can try the Bolivar Royal Corona or the Partagas Series D #4. The cohiba Robusto is an excellent robusto (but as with all cohibas, you'll pay a premium for them). for a milder robusto, try a Hoyo de Monterrey epicure #2... a real flavour bomb !!

hope this helps
