Has anyone been to the cigar store at Hotel Atlantico in Guardalavaca lately?? I think that's where I may end up unless there is a better recommendation.

Was wondering if Marty Mix's list was comparable to some of the stuff there..and doesn anyone know if i can get some PSD4 and/or MC No 2's there?? Cohibas?

Hi Dr.,
Are you going for the beach or the cigars? Best beach Sol Luna y Mares. I stayed at the Grand Playa Turquesa in January. Very good food and service, but I would not recommend it unless you feel like walking up and downhill 20 times a day. The gift shop has a humidor with a nice selection, but you might have to harass whoever is working there to get you a single.
my friend got back a month ago from the hotel atlantico, he recommends if you can, to stay in the bungalows. He told me there isn't much of a beach in front of the hotel. He said the cigar shop is quite basic, with most popular brands and good service. But this being Cuba, its likely that some sold out brands are replaced many months later. The airport has a very good selection with the cigars you are looking for except I didn't notice any Montecristo no.2's. I hope this helps you somewhat.

I landed a 25 box of Monte #2's at the Hotel Atlantico and a 10 box of PSD4's at the Paradisus where I stayed.....same beach as Luna y Mares.

Marty Mix's list is quite accurate based on what I saw between the airport and two resorts.

Also got to go off the resort and visit a local family...what a great experience that was!

Anyone who just stays at an all inclusive resort has not seen the real Cuba.
