Hey guys,

I have had a couple boxes of the Epi 2's and quite enjoyed them. I have never had the Hoyo Petit Robusto and was thinking about buying a box. How have you guys been liking these compared to the # 2's and how have they been smoking recently? Are they good after a few months?

Thanks!

They're both great smokes. I find the Petit Robustos smoke very well young, but some disagree.

Same here. The Epi 2s also have been awesome without age as well. The strength of the PR is greater but the flavor profile and smoothness of the Epi is superior IMO.

I have smoked about 2 or 3 PRs and they were ok, but I almost burned through an entire box of Ep.2 and they were amazing one of my favourite robustos, if not #1. I had a SEP 06 cab, with only 7 left now.

Both good smokes, but I would take the petit robusto. Stronger, and, to my mind, fuller flavoured. Occasionally I come across and Epi#2 that is a little flat.

I've found that Epi 2's can be a little flat around the 1-2 year mark but after that pick up again into something quite wonderful. Much more refined than the Petit Robusto, with lots of creamy, fruity flavours.

That said, I'd probably go for the Petit Robusto: Much stronger, more powerful and fully flavoured. You might want to try one or two before you go for a box as they are very different from the Epi No. 2's.

as others said, the PR is stronger. I do prefer the aromatic elegance of the epi2 though.
