Under the air conditioner vent or a ceiling fan. I keep my house at 77. The humidor is under an air vent and away from any windows at it stays at 72- 71.

completely undershade works, I have a closet that is next to the air conditioning vent that keeps it hovering around 72. If all else fails, I'd suggest a pack of Ice next to the humidor wrapped in towels. A lot of trouble but its the last resort. Or you can spent a few hundred bucks and buy a small cooling device

I've got my humidor in the basement currently. The temperature hasn't risen about 72 degrees yet. I'm curious myself to see what happens when the temperature gets into the upper 80s low 90s in a few weeks.

Good luck. . .

A small wine cooler will help you set the exact temp you desire and it can also be modded in the future for full box storage. Try a search for wine coolers in the forums.

I keep my humidors on a tile floor. over a cement slab, which keeps the temperature 5 degrees cooler than the house.

I have the exact opposite problem... I cant get my humidoors above 50 degrees.
I dont know if thats going to be a problem longterm or not - but I dont want to find out the hard way.... so I'm trying to get it closer to 65... somehow.

Nothing wrong with that. Not for cc's anyway. I believe the English keep their humidors at similar temps and have been doing so for quite a while now. The only problem with that temp is that it'll probably make you go through more humidification solution or distilled water.

If you have a basement I would put it there. My humi went up to 77 and in a panic I put mine in a basement closet and the temp went down to around 65

Why are John Deere's green? So they can hide in the fields while the Farmall's do all the work.

Same here. I don't have a basement, so it's either the title floor in the kitchen or bathroom to combat the summer heat. I choose the kitchen, although there's plenty of times I'd suck down a stick while on the pot Eek

As has been said, basement or closet floor works well for me...though so far my temp has gone to upwards of 75-80 degrees but only for a day or two and I haven't had any problems. It usually hovers around 70-75...

Smoke em if you got em

I have a fridge and a small wine cooler converted into a humidor. In both cases the warmest temp was too cold so I had to wire in a thermostat with a higher temp range. The thing is is has to be a cooling thermostat and not a heating one. A heater type like you would find for a baseboard heater goes "closed loop" when the temp drops, you want the opposite. In both I use a cigar Oasis electric humidifier even though they hardly run because the seal is so good I suspect. Beads work well but re more work as you have to get the right amount of moisture in them.
