Tommy DeVito: I said, no more shines. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you've been away a long time. They didn't go up there and tell you. I don't shine shoes anymore.

"If you don't have my money for me I'll crack your fing head wide open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm coming out of jail, hopefully you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what, I'll split your fing head open again."
Pesci was hysterical.

quote: CC companies are in business to make money. Seems to me they don't do that by ratting out their customers. What would they have to gain by doing this?
I don't know what they personally have to gain but it appears some time back. In Hong Kong a company was doing just that. Whether intentional or not many received fines and letters. I guess they do not safe guard your info as well as they say.
In context, Sheep, it appears that you accused a Hong Kong credit card company of "ratting out" its customers.
That's what I thought was irresponsible. As I said, the information available to me (and I have had a ton of private conversations with those who got the OFAC letters) strongly suggests that the credit card company was NOT the culprit.
Did the vendor give out customer information voluntarily or involuntarily? Given that the letters went to shipping addresses, that seems more likely than the credit card company. This notion is bolstered by the fact that OFAC had very specific information on exactly what marcas and vitolas were allegedly purchased and on what dates.
If it really was your intent to give members a "be careful" heads-up, your post was a pretty cryptic way of doing that.
Originally posted by A Work Of Art: Guys, Could it possibly be that the info was obtained from no one other than the actual package itself that got confiscated? Especially since the letter goes to the shipping address?
No. In every case I am aware of the cigars were allegedly delivered -- not confiscated. Furthermore, shipments are seized by ICE (Customs), which is a branch of Homeland Security. The letters came from OFAC, which is a branch of the U.S. Treasury.

"Funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm here to fkn' amuse you? How da fk am I funny? What da fk is so funny about me? Tell me. Tell me what's funny."
Or this classic -
"Why don't you get yourself a nice girl?" Tommy: "I get a nice one almost every night, Ma." Mom: "Yeah, but get yourself a girl so you could settle down!" Tommy: "I settle down almost every night but then in the morning I'm free!
He really is hysterical.

Funny how is one of the most classic scenes in movie history. Absolutly hysterical.
