It was Father's Day and the Beef Tenderloin was on the Grill, Anejo in one hand and a RyJ Cazadore in the other. I had out some of my past issues of CA in preparation for our visit to Havana in three weeks. I show the wife and kids a picture of a Culebra and we discuss how you smoke it and with whom I would share one. Then my wife makes a brilliant observation, "Why don't we bring back three hundred of them duty free?" So there's the question for the day. Is a Culebra three cigars or one (it is a singular Culebra, so it is one thing)? And which one of you lawyers will represent me against CCRA?
In the end I'll only bring back one...or is that three, but it put a smile on my face.

Your not? Now you tell me. Once I burned through the red ribbons I used duct tape to hold them together. Kind of added a unique rubber and nylon quality to the smoke.

If I had anything to trade for one, then I would, that way I could smoke it with some good friends. They seem like an interesting and fun idear for a smoke. Also the experience I am sure is something else. Oh and the ash would be pretty cool if you could get it to stay intact through some of the curves.

If you can't get the CC Partagas Culebra, Illusione makes a culebra as well.
You know, I had heard that, but I have totally forgotten about that. Not that it helps though, because my local doesnt carry anything out of the ordinary at all. Plus arent Illusione's kind of limited in quantities?

The two B&M shops I frequent started to carry the Illusione brand, however, they do not have the culebra. Normally, New Havana Cigars would have it, but as you can see, it is out of stock right now. That's where I got my Illusione Culebra. They are not as twisted as the CC Partagas ones though.
I don't think Illusione is hard to find, at least not at New Havana Cigars. They are my Tatuaje/Illusione headquarters now, great customer service and s&h!

I suppose that method has some merit, if your intention is to emulate the flavors of NC cigars.

I also just talked to Illusione and here's what they told me about their Culebra (the Illusione 23) and I quote:
"Total nightmare on these. Production has been few and far between. These are rolled by only one person in Miami. When he gets a few bucks in his pocket, he goes on a week long drinking binge and is nowhere to be found. I don't even have any for my own personal consumption! The best place to keep your eyes on is www.newhavanacigars.com. Dan will be one of the first to get them when they come in."
That's what Dion Giolito from Illusione told me earlier today when I asked him about the Illusione Culebra...I already have the Partagas Culebra though, so I guess I'll stay content with that :-D

But seriously, the Culebra is great and I highly recommend this twisted cigar to everyone. And please, only smoke one at a time, but share the other 2 with friends. A great kinky smoke.

I smoked my first Culebra about 2 months ago. It was definitely better than I expected, though certainly not my favorite Partagas smoke.

Could not agree more. Which was nice because at first I thought it was a novelty smoke. But it was quite good. I plan on picking a few more up in the future.

CANAC, let me know if you want to try an Illusione, my local B&M has one left, if he's not sold it already. I'll pick it up and ship it to you if you'd like.

As much as I would like one, my friend your kindness knows no bounds, and I just can not ask you for any more cigars right now. At least not until I feel as though I have paid you back somewhat. If you would like to pick it up, then you can, but wait a little while to ship it, because this is TOO lopsided.
