The following is a hypothetical situation. Has anyone experienced the confiscation of a product (that could be covered by an embargo) mailed from another Country. If so what is the process or your experience with the letter they send you? I realize this is a bad thing , but how bad.
Don't worry about the letter, it's the whipping with a wet shoelace on a dry foreskin that's gonna hurt. Or is it a dry shoelace on a wet--- hmmm I can't remember!

Is this hypothetical question for your benefit or is it for the benefit of the other posters whom you think will be enlightened by your thought provoking question?
This request for information is for my benefit due to the fact that I received a letter in the mail indicating a package intended for my was being confiscated. The letter gave me 3 option to grieve the confiscation and 1 to not participate at all. However, the feedback provided may help or assist others. Additionally, I spoke with another CA member off-line that thought I should post my problem. Let's call it Shared enlightenment. Thanks everyone for the feedback.
This happened to me several months ago. DO NOT respond to that letter. just except the fact that your smokes were confiscated by the heat, and move on.

A hypothetical friend of mine once received a flattened empty box with a note from Dept of Homeland Security/Customs saying that the box had contained contraband. The letter was followed by two registered mail letters each urging him to respond or the material would be destroyed. No further action ensued. The vendor refunded the CC amount and stopped shipping after the same thing happened a lot in the next month or so. Oh well. I guess my "friend" is on some list somewhere.

I would have to say your best bet is not to respond. I have never been in this situation but assume that the gubermint has better things to do...hopefully.
Don't mean to hijack a thread, but this is related, what time frame is normal between the expected delivery and the letter arrival, hypotheticaly speaking of course.

Yes they were from a guaranteed delivery source, they are just taking twice as long as previous orders, and hope it is just the holiday mail causing the delay,

Well, if it was from a guaranteed site, you should fight that letter tooth and nail. Send the letter back saying you demand the product in question...or else.
Go on, poke the dog. I'm dying to know what happens. The suspense in killing me.
