Hello one and all.So do does anyone know of a site that has up to date Spanish prices listed on it.The reason I ask is because a friend is visiting the Costa Del Sol next week and has agreed to bring me some sticks back. Now the thing is that he is a cigarette smoker but he knows nothing about cigars. So I'm really unsure as to whether I should be confident about actually getting what I pay for.......I'll have a search and see if there's a LCDH in the region,if not then I may give it a miss but if anyone knows of the prices that would be great.Cheers.

We're going to need a bigger boat.

In Spain the LCDH are called Estancos, noted by the "T" sign over the shop door.

Prices are set by the Gub'mint, so they are the same across the country. The following site list most of the prices. If you don't see a cigar you are interested in you can make an educated guess at the price by looking up the price of a similar vitola from a equal manufacture. i.e. Montecristo compared to a Partagás or RyJ.

Near Marbella, just to the west on the Coast road is Venta Los Pacos which has cigars in nice condition and is throughly reputable. It is an Estanco, so government prices.
If your friend is up for a trip to Gibraltar, down the coast, there is a La Casa del Habano, a brick and mortar store. Prices are 10% lower, sometimes more and they do give discount for two boxes+ if you ask. It is located at 37 Main St. http://www.lacasadelhabano.gi/ And before any tries to flame me this store doesn't export!!!

All of the above...plus be informed that the Spanish duty free shops all have cigar shops and carry more brands/sizes than mainland Spain at 10-15% lower prices.

FYI the MC Edmundos are 250 Euros in Spain! Get a box if you can.

Me too Keith - I go there twice a year. To put the things straight, IMO more or less prices are the same. Some cigars are more expensive in the DF and some others in mainland Spain, but considering the much greater selection I'd vote for the DF.

BTW my mistake. The Edmundos are 200 Euros in Spain and 107 Pounds in Gibraltar. Great prices by any means.

Duty Free is sometime cheaper, but you can only purchase with the discount on Departure. And you won't have time to disguis........oops (uncharted territory, I'm sorry)

I think the ticket has to show that you are leaving Europe.

I would suggest checking prices at the airport on arrival and then compare to the prices in the Estanco, then make your decision before coming back to depart.

Happy Hunting..
