Got my first box last week. This one lives up to its reputation. My son asked me if I needed a roach clip....Wonder how he knows about those.Any how perfect burn, perfect draw. No underfill problems here.I'll have to get another box to age.
Recently the Monte#2's wrapper has NOT been a deep dark "oily brown," which I prefer, but much lighter brown wrapper, but overall construction remains consistent (almost a tan color or a light brown wrapper). I do find a difference in flavor profile when the wrapper is a darker brown, but there have been rare exceptions. Nonetheless, I love to see a deep "oily," chocolate dark brown wrapper on ALL my Cubans DOC
These are what smoking Cubans is all about for me. When I light them up, and when they're "on", it's pure heaven on earth. Even the ones that aren't "on" are still pretty good.

My code was LLN, I'm not as cocerned about the factory code as the month. I can't tell if it's UUL or JUL 04. These are almost as dark as my BBFs but not quite. And for being so young they are great! This box won't last.

Nice, photo's. Did I see an Opus-Opus-X in the corner? Every now and then I will also smoke a non-cuban just for a change of pace. Then when I light up the "real deal," it makes me apprciate even more my cuban smokes!
hey Doc, I believe it's an Opus X Super Belicoso. I was going to smoke them over a year ago, but I was told by a wise cigar smoker to wait two years to smoke them. So I still have 10 months to go, and I'll see how they are.
I know what you mean about "the real deal". I have about 75% Cubans in the humi right now, and the number of NCs keeps getting smaller and smaller

I know that this is the Cuban site, but what NC do you part take in?

Nice pics Eddie. Just stopped by the office to pick up a couple of smokes for T-day.After those pictures I'll take a couple of Montes. We're cooking a pig today at my uncles and after dinner my cousins and I are going to open goose season. Never had a good smoke while shooting geese, but they are two of my favorite pastimes.Happy hollidays.
i always take tubes off. that way if they are under/overhumidified when i get them they can settle out. and as you said, why would you put aluminum in a humidor that's supposed to house cedar and cigars?

I love LGCs, especially the Wavell Maduro and Serie R Maduros. I love the Camacho Diplomas and enjoy on occasion an AF Short Story. How about yourself?
