Well its gettin' cold out there - looking to purchase a box for Christmas. These marevas have always hit the spot. My choices are:
Boli Petite Corona
MC #4
Cohiba Siglo II

I've listed them in my preference order - have never gone wrong with the BPC and have heard many good thing about the MC4 (love the MC2).

Looking for comments from everyone on how these 3 are smoking now. Thanks for your anticipated input.

Bolivar petit corona
Por Larranaga
Saint Luis Rey

These are my favourites. The BPC smoke really well straight out of the box. The 08 boxes that is, i do not have any 09 boxes. MC4 are too woody/cedary for my palate,I am generally not a big fan of MC so cannot comment. Siglo II is for me along with the VI the best of the Siglo line, but too grassy/flowery for me.

you should consider the Partagas corona senior, or the Diplomaticos no.4, both I prefer over the montecristo.

Partagas PC Especiales, H. Upmann Corona Major, dollar for peso two of the best. IMHO.

I actually prefer the Super Partagas to the PC Especiales. More old school and creamy

Check out the RASCC. Awesome little smoke with tons of flavor at a great price... Some places you can find them for under a hundred bucks

Interesting to find this thread, as just last night I was thinking I would be smoking more evening PCs and fewer Robustos and DCs, due to a dip in the temps. I love Bolivar, Por Laranaga, MC4. I just ordered some MC5s on the basis of a strong endorsement from a forum friend.
Short Hoyos and Monte Petit Edmundo also seem to fit the bill. And I smoke RASCC and Party Shorts occasionally on my drive home at night.

The Siglo II would get my vote... over the Monte #4 at least.

I rarely smoke Petite Coronas, still I have my preferences. First is the Por Larranaga Petite Corona, they do however, need some down time on them to be fully appreciated. Second would be the Juan Lopez Petite, great cigar IMO. Lastly, there's the Cohiba Siglo I, another great cigar.

Of the true marevas I would pick Monte #4 or Por Larranaga PC's.
As for "small" cigars all around I belive the Trinidad Reyes is a gem as is the Partagas Short.
IMHO.

PLPC (that wonderful toasty caramel taste)

Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales: (wonderful earthy old school Partagas taste)

- and if you can get them to draw: Monte #4

"You only have to spend $150 for a box of montecristo #4's? Holy crap, I got screwed in canada... I mean no vaseline, no kiss behind the ear, leave me high and dry screwed.

/sigh

Sorry for the threadjack.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with PCs, so I'll mention the only one I DON'T really like- RyJ PC. The JL PC is very under rater. I don't generally like the JL line, but DO like the PCs a lot- well, enough to buy them! Smile
