Hunters & Frankau has advertised that these new 04 EL Habanos are available for sale in the UK now. Anyone been able to get there hands on one yet? If so, what were your first impressions?
Wasn't a fan of the Cohiba 03 EL's and was wondering if this might change with the 04's.

You weren't a "fan" of the Cohiba Double Corona EL ? Is that correct ? Listen buddy, if you don't like that cigar, try Macanudo, or Partagas black label, perhaps those will be more to your liking.
He just said he wasn't a fan of particular cigar. No reason to jump allover him....

For a smartman it's amazing you didn't enjoy the DC EL. The best cigar made in the world. The only thing not to enjoy is the price. But, for that caliber of cigar I gladly pay it.
The Sublimes, to me, are a mix between the Monte Robusto and the Cohiba DC EL in flavors and complexity.
I have only had one so far. But once these hit the regular stream, I plan on buying at least a few boxes. If you have not seen this cigar yet you won't believe it when you do. It is all about the WOW.

Thanks for the comments Monk, now it looks like I'll be returning my wife's gifts and keeping the money for these smokes when they come out. I'll be sure to let her know you put me up to it
it will be interesting to see Cuban try and outdo the DC.

I hear what you are saying, Roberto, and I personally LOVE the DC Els...have a couple of boxes aging that I won't even look at for at least five years...the Sublimes, however, I have already stockpiled several boxes and will be adding more-these are a larger ring guage, feel better in your hand, and smoke superbly. I think these will be at least the equal of the DC Els if not their (ever so slightly) better...

I disagree...I think the best Cohiba out there is the Siglo VI. The EL DC were great, but cannot be considered alongside the rest of the Cohiba line...the EL's are animals unto themselves.
Comparing the Cohiba EL's, however, I do have a pecking order. The Pyramid is good...better, I believe, within the next year or so. The Sublime is better, but for now, it lacks the kick I would expect from a cigar of that size...they're what I'd call more of a finesse cigar. The DC is the best of the bunch, and has even more complexity and depth than the Sublime. But time will tell...the Sublime might be a sleeper that just needs time.
As far as the EL's are concerned...I still like the SD2 best, then the Hoyo Pyramid, then the SD3 and then everything else.

RyJ brings up a great point about the EL's being animals unto themselves. I would say, however, in my opinion the CoDC EL is more like the line it represents than any other of the EL's.
My pecking order for the EL's:
CoDC/SD3, then the Hoyo Pyramid, but I haven't had all the EL's.
The Sublime definately needs time, but promises to be a great smoke. The DCs are a 'holy grail' cigar to my taste. One of the things I like about the Sublime is its size 54x6.5 or close to it. Massive stick.
not a big COHIBA fan neither. When I first trreied the Siglo 6 I wondered what the big deal was, I have had alot better. Onto the Cohiba DC EL,well I have had better. It could do with some spicyness to it. I will stick to the HDM EL's which is by far the best out there ( besides some 82 Davidoff cubans)

From the looks and the the comments of people who have tried it I think we are looking again at a winner. Let's hope it has that good old "powerhouse" taste we all miss.
It is sold in the UK for 25 GBP per stick, but the availability is extremely limited. I think London is not that bad for Christmas eh?
P.S. I do not give the web-site photo because this is an on-line shop, but is someone wants to take a peek can email me at monte_9@hotmail.com
recieved an email from a vendor I use and they will get them in a few days and cost is $575 a box. Anyone want the site just email and i will shoot it at ya

Smoked a Cohiba Sublime for New Years, and I have to admit it was not that wow, sure the taste was good, but nothing compared to the Cohiba EL DC or the other great limitadas.
I thought the draw was quite mediocre since It went out around 5 times, it burned a little uneven, and I was just not that much impressed, maybe they need some aging, I only bought 1 since the box in Mexico is quite expensive almost 800 dlls to rich for my blood at the moment.
The cigars looked great, very dark and oily, and I really thought it would be a powerhouse when I saw the box at LCDH I was very tempted to buy it, since they only had 2 boxes, but now im not so sure.
Another aspect of this cigar is that I did not notice that espresso taste that other limitadas have, more of a R y J churchill taste.
Maybe it was that I was to concentrated on New Years, or who knows, but its just my opinion and maybe im wrong, but I would rate this one an 89.

I had one two weeks ago and it was excellent. Smoked great, firm but solid draw produced a mouth full of smoke. Creamy rich taste. Strong finish. Burned the lips and fingers on this one. Need a roach clip!
