Just ordered some goodies which included some Partagas Lusitanias. However, shortly after the order was placed I got a notice that the Lusi's were out of stock and I was given the opportunity to replace them with something else. Now, I am fairly new to CC's so I am trying to decide what to replace them with. Keep in mind I didn't order a complete box, so the quantity is not very large. I was looking at possibly some Monte Edmundos, Monte No. 2's, or Hoyo Petite Robustos. If anybody can give some ideas on one of these 3 I would appreciate it.

I'm a big fan of the Hoyo Petit Robustos. The Monte Edmundo's are also an excelent choice.
IMHO.

why dont you try one of all the stick you and others have mentioned. Ie if you were going to buy 5 Lusitanias, them replace that 5 with 5 singles of each sort. that way you know what to buy and order next time.

good luck let us all know how you go.

Hard to go wrong with the three you mentioned - they're all very good - it's just a question of personal taste. I would recommend trying two of each in order to give them a fair try and begin learning your preferences. Enjoy the journey!

Not a big fan of samplers, but these are all nice. I'm a big fan of the Monte #2 (despite the warnings, I've never had a bad experience with one) and it's a classic. I have a box of Edmundos that I didn't care for young (they are '06s), but that is apparently a minority opinion. The Hoyo Petit Robusto is my favorite short smoke.

That being said, the Lusis are DCs. Perhaps you should replace with something in the same size. The Punch DC just got a 94 in CA (and that for an '06 box!), and I have a box of Hoyo DCs that are frankly the best cigars in my current rotation. I have a cab of SLRs that are nice, but need more age, I think.
