What did everyone smoke? My choice was the Partagas Salomone 2000. Massive smoke. I had to put it down in the first inch as I was too buzzed to smoke anymore. Lunch helped and I was able to finish after smoking for 3 hours.
The 'victory' has made sure that there is not going to be some free flow of ideas, culture, art and, yes, cigars, from Cuba to the US, or vice versa. Smoke wisely...which is good advice. Arguably, some of us didn't VOTE wisely. But that's a moot point at this stage. 4 more years...as it pertains to Cuba, it's torture, it's inhumane, it's immoral, it's everything we as US citizens abhor. All in the name of what? Democracy? Freedom? Liberty? I think not.
So, yeah. Go ahead and enjoy the 'victory'. A nice Cuban cigar is totally appropriate and fitting.

JRB, the deficit is over $7.4 TRILLION. So, Bush did all of this? US Revenue is $1.8 TRILLION per year. Quite a similar situation to many of our household budgets, with a lot less of the zeros. Actually, my personal debt is 5x my revenue. The deficit has been there for 40+ years. We've had 2 years in the last 40+ years of a minicule surplus of $88 billion. Don't blame W for $7.4 TRILLION of debt. The problem is people and their entitlements. The SPENDING has grown faster than revenue over the last 40+ years. This isn't something that happened in the last 4 years. The fix will be to encourage growth in the economy(lower taxes) and to limit additional government spending.
The democrates controlled congress over 40 years, give the republicans a chance to get used to being in charge, Big Business will help take control, & it will be run like a Business , then & only then will it be better.

My one and only thing is that everyone harks at Bush for involving us in a "war" with people who had at the least a fudiciary comment to terrorsing our country.
Clinton got us (and we still are involved) in the Afganistan arena. I mean comne on how long have we been in there now.
As far as the 'wars,' just please support the troops. The politicians send them there away from family to do a job that (If you are reading this board form home) you didnot want to do.
As for the plight of the Cubans, I am deeply saddened by the state of affairs and neglect that we have for a country out of some of our politicians PRIDE. That is what I believe that it boils down to. I pray for the citizens of Cuba as they are going through the most difficult of times at the moment.
life is also too short for petty partisan politics. YES...support our troops, wholeheartedly. The situation with Cuba is simply an unfortunate sideshow of the Administration.

It's been a "side show" of every administration, since Kennedy got the US involved. or should I say uninvolved in Cuba.
Who is lobbying support in the US for Cuba? We need to put them to work to get this subject in front of the media and the people.
This Forum is the only place I ever hear of problems in Cuba.
I'd like to sincerely thank RyJ for keeping us all informed of the plight of the Cuban people. Since Ovum_Von_Neobie, and his eloquent manner of writing, left, RyJ has been the only one to keep us inform about Cuba. The US media sure isn't doing anything to get the word out.
By the way, did Clinton get anything accomplished to help Cuba? I saw a picture of him once smoking a Cuban cigar. Or was that his concellation prize?
I wonder if Clinton is one of the members in this forum??????????????? Ok, which one are you?

My Cubans have good combustion and smoke much faster than that.
I noticed that you did not state that the cigar made "lots of smoke". A clear indicator of fakes and typical of the average NC. When you said massive smoke you were speaking of the cigar itself.
Sorry.
Ironic, is it not?

The cigars are from the "world's largest" LCDH in the Beirut airport. Fakes, not a chance. Special edition, yep. Partagas Millenium Edition Salomon, the one with the 2000 on the band.
