I’m new to the forum and wanted to say I really enjoy the conversations, so I figured I’d join in. Question on CC’s, has anybody ever seen this one before? I picked some up out of the country, and to be honest, they are pretty damn good. Not sure if they are real though.
hey txsmoker... I'm not sure how much you paid for those Cohibas, but these are VERY expensive cigars, commemorating the 40th anniverasry of the brand..
there are lots of fakes of those flying around.... most people on this site will just jump and tell you they're fakes up front... but i won't..
the question is:
where did you buy them from ?? how much did you pay ??
answer those 2 questiosn, and we'l be able to help you out more...
It looks like a fake band based on the black and white grid. You can tell the top row got cut off. On such a special cigar and band, that kind of inattentiveness to details is highly unlikely.
Why are you following me around this board.Attempting to bait me.You got something on your mind buddy.Or do i have this whole forum thing wrong and i need to run my posts by you and get your O.K.Start what?I will say what i want when i want. Who died and left you boss?

^ LOL at the link I posted. The guy is comparing the 40th Anniversary band to a regular band that he though was real. Turns out the regular band is fake!!

not even.. I've stayed at the Sandals in Negril (5+ stars ultra all-inclusive), and all the CC's getting sold there were fakes...
i even tried a HdM DC for the hell of it one night (knowing that they were fakes, but I wanted a change from the local cigars ), and i almost puked my stomach out...

There is no way that they are authentic, sorry. Chalk it up as part of the learning process.
You mentioned that they smoked quite well; what you might do is just keep one (segregated from your other stock-- you don't really know what's in these fakes), then get some authentic Cohibas from either a reputable vendor or a LCDH. Acquire a palate for the real thing, then compare-- if you dare.

Any LCDH will do.It all depends what part of the world you are in.I have always gotten a fair shake there.I like to walk into a humidor look feel smell etc.It is the ritual of buying the cigar that is fun.You can not get that over the net. When you walk into their humidor with a pocket full of cash you own it in a sense. You may purchase what you wish at you leisure. No rush no worries about authenticity.
