How could I go about finding one and knowing its real.
If you are a U.S. citizen you would be breaking the law simply possessing one. If you are willing to take the risk, they can be found and purchased outside the U.S.A. either in person or by mail. "Knowing it's real" is a bit more problematic.

There are legitimate vendors of authentic Cuban cigars on the internet.
"Better" is subjective. I personally think CC's and top shelf NC's taste completely different, but both are good. Having said that, I'll take a top shelf CC over a top shelf NC any day.

I wonder how many times this question has been asked on a first post in this section?

I can't say. Even though I have quite a few Cubans thanks to friend from the net. And the reason I can't say that they better or not is that I don't know if they are not tickling the same pleasue center of my brain that were tickle has a teenager. Has in the snot nose teenage punk throwning his middle finger to world when smoking his first cigarette, drinking his first beer and doing thing's he shouldn't be doing because they are wrong becuse he was a teenage. All I can't is that they are different from their non-cuban brother's. Much like when it comes wine. There some great wines from around the world and they all have there pluses and minues. And thus it's up to you the cigar smoker to decide what you like and don't like. When it comes to the Cubans vs. Non-Cubans

Depends on the brand, the time you smoke it, the time you age it, the place you buy, the mood you are in, what you are drinking, what you previously ate, etc... etc... etc...
It all depends on personal taste and preference.

wait just a second here i,am still fighting with the peter luger vs supermarket thing. just kidding. your best bet is do a little research and see what youy like best.
As to Peter Luger's vs. supermarket, I havew always gone to a real butcher shop (getting harder and harder to find) when I wanted a real quality steak. I have vbelieved that the buyers for the resturants know more about the meat then the average supermarket buyer.
As to CC's vs non CC's. Well my palet is not that evolved but IMHO, after a trip to europe and purchasing some KNOWN CC's (at a LCDH) I can say they were without a doubt all excellent. I hope to repeat this ecperiment again in the near future and often.
That being said wneh I am buying regularly I do spend for premium NCC's and the taste is different.
I also could not say if a Bordeaux is better than a Napa Valley or a SE Australia wine, but they all have variances.

In a recent survey I conducted, which was open to anyone who wanted to participate, six of the eight top cigars chosen as "Best of 2007" were Cuban. And the respondents were predominately Americans. I think that says something.

Yes, it says a heck of a lot of us are at least occasional scofflaws.
