Thats what I got when I asked for close ups of the warrenty seal and the bottom of the box. What I love is the cohiba logo box button in the front... very nice.

I am studying and learning how to identify real and fake CC before I venture out and purchase them. Looking at the cigars how can you tell that they are fake?
They are not fake! I was given two of those fantastic Esplendidos at Christmas - very similar band. I knew right away they were fake - besides the poor craftsmanship and the worst band I have ever seen. But I kept those little buggers until the other night, when I gave one to my father-in-law. He always tells me not to give him a real good cigar because he does not "enjoy them like an aficionado" and the fact that he inhales everything. Anyways - by the half inch mark it looked like I gave him one of those exploding cigars! Man was it funny to see him try and draw on this damn thing. The vein started to go on his side of his head as he tried his best to get a draw out of it. He kept torching it and it just canoed. He threw it in his outdoor fireplace after 30 minutes, and when we woke up in the morning the only thing that did not burn in the inferno was that fake Cohiba. It just layed there like a turd. That is my only experience with a Esplendido - if you can call it that.

i wouldn't say they are the fakest ever...by far they are not. actually the cigars dont look that bad. i wouldnt buy them simply because i don't know the vendor. for laughs check out the canadian sections on craigslist, enter cigars in the search and try not to drink anything at the same time you are viewing!! lol

I could tell because the cigars are the wrong color wrapper. Cohibas have a gorgeous tan/brown/butterscotch color to them. I can't place the exact color but I knows it whens I sees it! Plus the lengths seem to be slightly off.

I would be cautious about using wrapper color as a tool for detecting counterfeits, as from box to box, wrapper shade can vary quite a bit.
This is crazy. There is so much to know. One day I will have some true CCs. Until then NCs for me. Dam, this is hard. Especially for me who have no experience with CC.

That's the best part. He admits they're not actually made in Cuba!
