Well most of us are only fortunate to get to play a round or two on the weekend at most, I was thinking we have a tonights smoke topic every night, what about a "This weekends round?"

Well this past Sunday, I played Split Rock, which is an NYC Public course. Sometimes its kept well... most times not. Had a Punch Rare Corojo which lasted almost 7 holes. But the hightlight of the day happend in a 3 hole span on the back. A buddy of mine was having a terrible day with his driver, and after hitting two in the woods on a long par 4, decided to drop at the edge of the fairway and play from about 240. He sunk a 3 wood for the best 8 I have ever seen. Than 2 holes later on a 180ish par three I hit the flagstick, about a foot from the ground with a 5 iron. unfortnuately for me, I came in hot and the ball scooted about 15 feet away, and I missed the birdie putt.

OK, but what did you shoot?

I played a couple of times last week, (unemployed currently) and shot 40/48 and 44/41. I'm starting to put a few things together and if I ever stop double bogeying 3-4 holes (disasters) I'll be fine.

Played a nice 9 hole links course along the Detroit river. Started out kind of rough, it was the first time I've been out all year. After the first hole, was driving steadily around 230-240, fairway game was good, but rusty on the putting. All in all, shot a 53. I felt pretty good.

Was on vacation, so got some in...courses of note: Leatherstocking in Cooperstown, NY. A 1909 gem by Deveraux Emmet. Highly recommend it. In Niagara Falls, played the Whirpool Course designed by Stanley Thompson. Also a classic and great deal.

Took a day trip to Kauai Lagoons-Kiele course today. Horrible score but enjoyed the beauty of the setting. The storm came in just when we finished 18. I love this course.
