The Mizuno MP Fli Hi is an 18* hybrid iron, so no need for a 2 hybrid.
I have a 52* wedge there, that NITRO tour series. It's not top notch but it'll do the job. Right now I am satisfied with all I have except for the wedges. I really want to get these Mizuno MP-T10 wedges; 52*, 56* and 60*.
I am totally out of golf money right now, so I will still have to wait for sometime before getting them.
I went to the course twice with these babies and I noticed right away I was hitting the ball better and the feel was excellent. Can't wait to play more with them once I finish exams October 5th.

Looks like I eyed myself! Played today. I'm afraid to say, I SUCKED! I shanked every shot I made. I am serious I am swear, every single damn shot was a shank today, be it a sand wedge, an iron or a hybrid. Except for the driver, I shanked it to the left, I just don't know how.
I know this happens from time to time, and I've had my bad days but I was never the shanking type, and I know shanks are tough to get over. I just hope this is just a bad day. I can't wait till I finish exams and start playing everyday.

When it comes to wedges - learn how to use a 54 - 57 degree wedge for everything...hit it 100 yards, flop it, punch it, hit it high, spin it...around the green, hold it firm and stroke it like a putter for a little bump-and-run... You really don't need 3 wedges, especially if you only get 14 clubs to have in your bag. If you carry a =/- 48-49 degree pitching wedge, and a +/- 55 degree sand wedge, you should be good to go.
And certainly DON'T worry about the equipment - you can play with a beer can on a stick - the key is learning how to use the equipment correctly.

PS: From what I've seen, you don't swing hard/fast enough to be using s-300 shafts. Too often, golfers have a macho mentality that does not equate with our skills, and we end up buying sticks with shafts that are way too stiff and defeat rather than enhance our skill. Unless you're generating a LOT more speed with your swing and gained about 10 kg of muscle, you'll be fighting your clubs instead of allowing the clubs to do the work like they're supposed to in that magic combination of weight and shaft flex.
An s-300 is a fairly standard stiff shaft, but you do need to swing it to make it flex and kick correctly, and if you have to over-swing to get that proper balance, you're doing yourself a disservice.
Look nice, though! PS: Consider ditching the 2 iron and get a 'trouble' club that you can hit long and use in the rough. Rare is the need for a 2-iron when you have the other hybrids.

From what I recall about your swing, you're 'shanking' because you're what they call coming over the top - your down swing should be on the same plane as your back swing otherwise you'll be cutting across the ball or missing it entirely. And when you go left...it's because you're trying to swing too hard and yank it. If you have the right shaft with the right weight, then you can swing the same easy swing all the time and get much better results. Keep your head down.

Nice clubs Lucky Break, I know what the wait is like. Tomorrow I am officially retired after 31 years and last week attended a Calloway fitting center and ordered new X-22 irons after getting fitted, measured and analysed. A retirement gift to myself. Also waiting for tomorrow night is a Cuban Bolivar torpedo in the humidor since last winter when I purchased it at a LCDH in Mexico. I play about 5 times a week now as I have actually been off most of the summer but tomorrow its official.
That's great to hear coah. Callaway X-22 are very good irons, I've hit them before. I am waiting for the day I can finally feel I have done everything I had to do and feel financially secured so I can stretch my legs and enjoy golf and cigars everyday.
