I shot a 92 @ Pine Hollow (http://www.pinehollowgolf.com/golf/proto/pinehollowgolf/) playing from the tips. Made a couple of birdies, but also made three triples...one very poor tee shot and two really bad breaks off the tee. I can scramble pretty well, but I need to learn to take my medicine and chip out/take the unplayable when a ball comes to rest in a spot that prevents any sort of back swing or stance.
Happened twice off the tee. One ball rolled under a Holly tree, and while I could get under it and take a stance, I couldn't take the club back much higher than my knee. The other time I was right up against a Pine tree and my stance and swing were restricted. Both times I tried a do too much. I could have taken unplayables and most likely been better off.
The weather was great though and the greens were rolling smooth and fast.
I'm seriously considering sticking the clubs in the basement for the rest of the year. Just about all of my Saturdays through the end of November are filled (Hokie football) leaving only Sundays...may decide to become an NFL junkie this fall. And as bad as I've putted this season, I really don't have that much of a desire to go play.
I'll probably play next Sunday...
