I'm going to start a new thread this time... Same rules apply like the previous U.S. Open thread.
Winner~Jim Furyk
Dark Horse~Double D David Duval... loved his U.S. Open performance... he's been playing alot in the U.K. so he know's how to handle the weather.
Player I'd like to see win~Tom Watson, even though he reached his prime before I was born... I've seen clips of him and what a hell of a player he was. Hey, the shark was there in the final pairing last year.
I have to admit it: I am responsible for Watson's collapse. Allow me to explain:
1. Like sports fans everywhere, I know that the outcome of distant sporting events involving people whom I have never met most certainly can and will be affected by where I'm sitting, what I'm saying, and even what I'm thinking while watching on TV.
2. Like sports fans everywhere, I found Watson's run to be amazing, but I never thought he would win; watching from the beginning of the second round became an exercise in looking for the signs of the inevitable collapse back to earth.
3. Like sports fans everywhere, when Westwood missed his long birdie putt on 18 and Watson split the fairway with his tee shot, I suddenly realized: My God, Watson is actually going to win the Open! He really is going to do it!
Need I continue?

I woke up early, after a LONG night a drinking, and was on the edge of my seat the entire round. Who would've thought that Tom was one putt away from winning.
I don't know what I was thinking when I chose him to win earlier, but I had a feeling about Tom Watson.
Even though Tom didn't win, Stew is a very good player. He was one of those guys who was good, but had never won a major.
