Footjoy makes a good shoe. I own the Dryjoys and love them. I think I picked them up for arounf $90 at a golf expo in Syracuse, NY. I think they normally go for a price point around $165.
Whatever you choose to purchase, my advice would be to get a shoe that has a separated heel. All of the best performing (and most comfortable & durable) golf shoes have a separated heel portion. Good luck with your purchase.
I've seen some Callaway ones online for prices of $50-$60. Don't know how good they are. What's the purpose of a golf shoe anyway? I never had one, not yet.

Well playing in egypt Im sure you dont need them very much since it hardly rains. Over here in the states playing in rain you need them and even in the bunkers you also do. Golf shoes are a must.

I also like FJs, but this may just be inertia; my first pair of golf shoes about forty years ago were Footjoys.
Also-- forgive me, superintendants-- I strongly prefer real, old-style metal spikes.

Why? The new plastic spikes give you so much more traction and they are quiet on the cart path. I can't tell you how many times I've been disturbed by some @-hole walking on a path with metal spikes. I say good riddance.

ever think maybe it's the cart path that should go ?
i've always wore metal spikes, as i always walk the courses where i play - i find carts and the paths the real culprits that should be gone.
metal spikes come only in better made shoes which i find are worth the cost.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I read those comments; I didn't respond because I figured that the response would be dismissed given the tenor of the comments. And, I actually think that metal spikes do perform better for me under a wider range of conditions than the soft spikes.
Oh, and if someone is addressing a ball in my vicinity, I'll stop walking even if I'm barefoot.

"If, like the composer of this LAMENT, you regard golf as a physical as well as a social exercise and still like to walk a course, carrying your bag on your shoulder, it is a LOSS to be made to feel guilty by the networking young bucks in their electrci chariots, pressing you impatiently from behind."

i walk every course and i am allowed my metal spikes since the places i play either are sympathetic (BILTMORE miami)or they don't want to turn away steady business (TIBURON naples)or i'm kinda grandfathered in (COLONYWEST tamarac) or they don't wanna piss-off a guest of a member (SIWANOY bronxville)(MAIDSTONE east hampton)
SPOILER ALERT - i wouldn't recommend it to just anyone, and would i be embarrased if someone went out and paid $400 or so only to then post here that their favorite course threw them off !
