Going to AZ in March. Can play/stay at either place. Any preferences or comments?

It depends on your interests.

If you want to hide from the world, soak up the views, and play a little golf....stay and play at The Boulders.

If you want to party and play some golf....stay in Scottsdale and play at Troon.

Teed it up at Troon North Monument on Monday. Great course, although the greens were a bit pockmarked. Didn't seem to affect the roll, though. Fairly wide fairways bordered by desert hazards (one stroke penalty). Greens were firm, fast and undulating, with shaved recovery areas. Kinda reminded me of Pinehurst #2. Greens are the toughest part of the course, unless you have a hook/slice. Expensive, but had a great time. My play was ragged, given its my first full round this year (still snow in NJ). Think the firm greens and early season "touch" around/on greens cost me ten strokes on the day, easily.

Yo! ID, how you be? Been too long, brother. Are you going back to Brandon Dunes this year? Just so happened for some reason I came across a Golf Digest article recently on the place and it made me think of your trip there. Definitely a place I need to get to.
