Harrington does it again.
To get it back from 3 bogies in a row and then that approach shot and eagle on 17.
Fantastic golf and a well deserved win.
Norman got a bit tired on the back nine but a great Open for him too.
Great stuff.

Not sure I buy the "Norman was tired" excuse. The guy has been a choke-artist in majors his entire career. That said, Harrington played beautifully and dare I say could have beaten Tiger today.

It's certainly true Norman was a famous choker back in the Faldo days. He is 53 now though, he probably deserves some slack.
I think he's the oldest player ever to lead on the last day of a major.
If anyone choked it was Choi.

At that level, in those conditions, I would say non of them really choked Padrig was just relentless, if he had let the conditions effect him like everyone else it would have been very close. Also maybe known as a choker to someone just looking in. I dont think any number of missed putts in majors could overshadow all of the other things he has done. After all he who dies with the most toys wins and in this instance he is way up on the leader board in my opinion..... Not only that I met him at the U.S open years ago at The Olympic Club and ouside of maybe Trevino he was one of the friendliest compititors out there. Give the old guy a break and BTW Tiger would hav made this a very different game in my opinion. We will find out next year, I cant wait!!!!!!!!!

Paddy was too good; Norman was Norman-- which neither Azinger nor Watson gets. They spend the entire broadcast critiquing Norman as if he either should or could play golf the way they did; he can no more do that than they could play like Greg Norman. Then, to cover his a**, Watson says "go in" as Norman hits his putt on 18.

Norman's go-for-it attitude is what makes him who he is-- like the scorpion hitching a ride on the frog's back across the pond-- it made him both prone to flaming out and immensely popular. I never was much of a Norman fan, but I respect that he lost with grace.

Well said...my thoughts exactly...Mickelson is a lot like Norman (I'm not a big fan of either, BTW), so was Arnie...they play the game their way, which is pretty dramatic and somewhat reckless, but leaves them with fewer major victories than they should have had when compared to their more dominant, clinincal opponents (Nicklaus, Faldo and Tiger).
