Both brands are great and have several different models to choose from. Be careful and test the ones that fit your game. If you are a high handicap look at cavity back irons with a larger sweet spot. You cant go wrong with either brand.

what were we testing?

was it successful?

do we need to re-test?

do you have the required testing equipment?

was this a test or an experiment?

and finally...

what did you learn?

I've been playing Mizuno blades (well...T-Zoid...forged cavity back) for years...and before that, Hogan ApexII. Tried Ping in the past (Eye-2), but I found the setup such that everything seems like it's going left...and it does. High left. So, I want to avoid too much perimeter weighting and offset.

Looking at the I-10...and with the Callaway, prolly the X-20 Tour. Just a little forgiveness. I prefer a heftier club, too, and have played s-400 shafts (steel) forever.

So...to the range!

And if a quiz is quizzical...what's a test?

I have played Callaway X-16 pro series and they were great. I played MacGregor V-foils right before and I liked them a little better. But then I was at my club and I was hitting a friends new Callaway blades which were nice. I compared them to the Titleist 695CB and there was my answer. I got fitted for them and I swear (as I always do when I change clubs) that this will be the last set I ever own. Of course once they lose their good shots I'll have to get new ones.

Don't look past the Cleveland CG Red's. I tried them out over the weekend and I think they're great. It sounds like these may be right up your alley.
