I have all knock off clubs. From driver to PW. My uncle makes them for me and there is no difference really. Still hit the 280-290 and shoot high 70's with them. And they cost bout $300 cheaper...

Yeh, I was on the Callaway staff for about eight years before getting out of the golf business. They did a lot for me over the years as far as providing equipment, balls, gloves, clothes, etc..., and I still try to promote their products even though I'm no longer working in golf.

It's a good company. I like my X-14's, but I realized I wanted something more game improvement (wide sole, etc..) and the Mizuno MX-950 was just too good to resist.
On another golf forum there was a guy who had a new Diablo driver. While on range, he hit it on the follow through against the metal divider between the lanes, resulted in a big ding on the head and a tear in the metal.
An incident like that is certainly not covered by their warranty, but he called them, explained what happened, and they were decent enough to offer to replace it from him, even though it's totally his fault. They have certainly earned a customer for life.
I've hit most of the X series; the 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and the 22. I feel they are all the same except for very minor tweaks, plus, they're too flashy for my tastes. Mizunos are much more simple (specially the MP line) and the whole forging thing got me interested. (even though I am pretty sure it's not a big difference).
But I'm with the Callaways till the Mizunos arrive!
Short, what do you think about Adams golf?? I got their Tom Watson wedge. I really wanted a Cleveland CG14 or CG12, but I settled for an Adams and I got the Mizuno MP-Fli Hi as well. I really want to feel the MP series irons.
It's unfortunate that I do not have the opportunity to demo the clubs before buying, nor getting them fit for my specs. So I have to rely on trial and error and the general opinions on the equipments. What do you think about what I got???

The AP2s are great irons. I wouldn't trade them for any other irons out there. They are a bit demanding but they are also quite forgiving. They are a dual cavity forged iron after all. I feel they have the perfect amount of forgiveness, yet still allow you to work the ball very easily and get all the feedback you need to become a better ball striker. I purchased them when they came out and having been using them ever since. They've made me a better golfer and that's what's important in equipment shopping.

Lucky, sorry I haven't replied sooner.
I think Adams makes quality clubs. In reality, Adams had the first clubs, Tight Lies, that led to the development of the hybrid clubs that are finding their way into everyone's bag now. I've never hit any Adams irons or wedges but I have a Pro friend who is on the Adams staff (was with Wilson for years) who absolutley loves them (very forgiving compared to what he used to play).
Mizuno also makes some great irons. I used to play Mizuno irons...TC-29s...actually passed my playing ability test using a set of those back in the early 90s. Typically, Mizuno is more known for their "better player" clubs. But, I really like their concept behind the MX-950's...you get the best of all worlds from hybrids to short irons.
I think you've made some good choices and won't be disappointed.

I've been a club junkie for many years but have settled down to about 2 bags the past two years. Of couse, I still have a bag of misc. clubs in time out waiting for their turn if others act up.
I think performance wise PING irons are great, but I just can't get myself to like how they look. Their drivers as well; I've hit the G10, very solid driver, but I am put off by it's design. In my opinion one of the worst designs for a club head out there.
On contrast, I love their putter designs. Specially the Ansers.
Good news for me, the set will be arriving earlier than I expected; a friend of my brother is coming back to Egypt next Thursday, and he is bringing it with him. CAN'T WAIT!!

I think I've become a Mizuno whore before even hitting my new Mizuno irons. I've just ordered a Mizuno visor (like the one worn by Luke Donald) and some Mizuno gloves.

Karsten II's were early 1970's...the Karsten I's came out in 1969. Still, it was a club that was WAY ahead of its time. Those are definitely some classic irons!!!
