I'm finally near the point of giving up on my 3 iron. It's simply too difficult to hit consistently. In addition, it always lands and runs though greens, as the shot trajectory is quite low. I'm thinking of purchasing an Adams Idea Pro 23* hybrid to replace it.
I'm thinking the 23* is my best option as I carry a 15* 3 wood and a 19* hybrid. I figure the 19* hybrid essentially serves as a 5 wood because it gets the ball so high in the air. The Adams 23 will do the same and be longer than my 4 iron.
Any info on this particular hybrid would be appreciated. Also, thoughts on this one vs. their new Idea Pro Gold hybrid would be great from those who have experience with these clubs. Thanks in advance!
From what I recall you are an accomplished golfer...In that regard, the hybrid may be perfect. My good friend is a 7 index and he can kill his 2 iron hybrid. I don't have any experience with the Adams hybrids.
I carry a 23 degree TaylorMade fairway wood (9) instead of a 3 iron and I call it my "Show Me the Love Club" as I have hit more amazing 200-210 yd shots than I can count. Its my favorite club in the bag. It's very easy to hit and delivers a high arching(sp?) ball flight and lands soft. On those days when the longer clubs are playing Army golf, I tee off with it. Two shots with my 9 wood can take care of most par 4s I play. Thats how consistent I am with it.
The shaft is the same length as a 5 wood. At least you should try a similar club for comparison.

Adams is making incredible equipment lately. From the high handicapper to now the accomplished player. The new Pro Boxer hybrids are great, and could not be any easier to hit. For lower spin/ lower ball flight get the Ozik shaft....... higher launch get the Javelin shaft. Both are outstanding stock shafts which many companies upcharge $200-300 for.
ok I am stupid what is a "HYBRID" club. I learned on wooden shaft clubs and my parents still have them at their house. I would love to play with them but am afraid I would break them they are so old.
