Who do you all think will be the second best golfer going forward for the next five years? Phil Mickelson is 2nd in the World Golf Rankings right now, but I think he can be supplanted.

Best bets in my opinion would be:
Baddeley
Choi
Stricker

Thoughts?

My guess is it will remain Phil...I'd put Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia and Jim Furyk above these other guys as they will all be in their primes (with Phil)...of these, only Baddeley has the game, and is still young enough to not be labelled a choker (like Scott and Garcia...and was once for Phil)...Stricker is already 40 yrs old and will get older...you don't make a move upward after 40 unless you're Vijah Singh, and even then its hard to hold onto...Choi is tough, and I like him, but he's not long enough to dominate on today's extra long courses...he'll win a major or two, though.

I think you should talk about guys like Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Brent Snedeckter over these guys.

I don't think Phil's going to drop out of the no. 2 slot for quite a while. He's been trending upward for the last 4 years and with the Harmon/Callaway switch, he's only going to win more majors.

The guy who could replace him at #2 I think would be Geoff Ogilvy, he's got a heck of a game. Tiger and Phil are heads above the rest right now. I think it's their unbelievable short games that separate them from the next tier like the Furyks and Garcias of the world.

The whole weekend turned into a Ben Curtis "love fest" and when he won we had a big party celebrating his victory after our final member-guest round on Sunday afternoon. The three guys (all in their late 30's at the time) sat around telling stories about watching Ben grow up and him always wanting to play with the "older guys" (them) when he was a kid (they said he was probably 7-10 years old and they were college age).

I have to say, I have followed his career since that weekend and always pull for him when he's in contention.

Gotta love Furyk. Manheim Township represent.

Always liked Furyk.I give it to Ben Curtis for his accomplishments not bad for a small town ohio guy, but he just seems to keep falling off the pace.
