less is more - anyone carry a sunday bag anymore ? remember those days ? just the 3-5-7-9 putter ? - too many clubs IMHO has contributed to SLOW PLAY !

I'll carry my own bag on any course that allows me to walk-- it's my favorite way to play the game-- and invariably I'll be waiting on players that are riding! As for limiting sticks, not unless money is on the line: I love the "I can break 90 with three clubs" bet. I'll take the 3-wood, 7-iron and PW.

I took my 3 iron out of the bag, went to a utility club this year and it's a great change. Also left my 3-wood in the garage and sub'd in a gap wedge (tween PW and SW), and I love it.

All of my clubs are rather old (I think only one club in my bag was bought new!)... Most of you guys probably wouldn't recognise the brands, as they seem to be 'budget' golf companies based in Britain, but since switching back to a small headed, steel shafted driver and 5 wood earlier this year my long game has much improved. So much for my Taylormade R510!! Haha...
The only thing in my bag that seems worth putting up here are my irons; old school Mizuno Astrons. I bought them second hand when I took up the game properly, and they are some of the nicest irons I've ever hit. Has anybody ever heard of, or played, this model?
Haven't hit those, but Mizuno makes beautiful irons.
I also am "old school" with the irons--I still play a set of Wilson Staff Tour Blades-- but there's no denying the huge advantages provided by recent metal woods and hybrids.
With the new ball technology and these "woods" the long game is much more accessible to mid-handicappers. However, I contend that there is nothing more beautiful and gratifying in the game of golf than a purely-struck long iron. (If only I would hit more of them).

Definitely not my putter! LOL
I've been hitting my driver and my short irons/wedges (especially my #9, PW, and SW) very well this summer...I'm hitting them closer to the pin than I ever have, I just can't get the ball in the hole once I'm there.

Driver (Ping G10). Made some adjustments earlier in the year that are paying off.

I have a set of Cleveland 792 VAS woods and irons. They're the clubs with the extreme offset, so much so they look weird. I can hit with them but I'm thinking about getting the Nike fairway woods and drivers at least. Every time I borrow my friend's Nike, I can rip it dead straight a country mile.

I've got the Adams A4 irons and Adams Wedges a Taylor Made Burner Tour edition with a Diamana Shaft and a Ping Karsten putter but my prized posession is my Golf bag cigar lighter.
