madspeed, most, if not all members on this board do not like DE and any of his cigars for many reasons. Search and look around you'll find out why. In fact, I'll say that almost all veterans on this board have a distinct dislike (or hatred) of DE and his brand.

Yeah, not a fan.
no problem. I'm glad you are not a fan after you've been on the board for almost a year now. otherwise I'd be dissapointed. I just want to add that there's nothing wrong with starting out on flavored cigars, I started out that way. It's just that if you are serious about cigars you'll quickly learn that flavored cigars are like the McDonalds of fine dining.

I started out on them too. After I smoked my first PSD#4, I never turned back. I like the way you put the last sentence in the quote, very true.
didn't know it was flavored. Got a small selection with my first humi and enjoyed it, but did just notice that my box of Punch Elites seems to be emptying quicker than I thought it would
Agreed I had a root by DE a while ago and it wasnt half bad

The Dirt was so sickly sweet I had to chuck it before getting halfway through.
On the other hand the Root wasn't half bad. It was a mild smoke the kind of reminded me of pipe tobacco.
Not a bad cigar to change the pace every now and then.

while there is a vocal majority here on the DE line, I for one am a big fan of the DA and Root Naturals. I started with a Dark Angel, and then also tried the Root. The Clean Robusto and the Dirt taste like they have been "infused" even though DE claims otherwise. I don't care for infused cigars. but the Dark Angel and the Root are sweet like a maduro, but no where near the sugary taste of the Dirt or Robusto. I really enjoy the DA, and Root, they draw beautifully , burn very well, and have a very plesant taste for me. They are still my goto stick, and I have a pretty good collection of smokes now.

I agree with everything you said in this post. I remember coming to the boards a year ago asking if anyone knew of any other cigarillo brands that I could pick up. Needless to say, I didn't receive a lot of replies. Cigarillos used to be the tobacco that I was obsessed with when I began smoking because I loved the portability.
After I smoked a few Ashtons and Arturo Fuentes, I decided to concentrate my funds on buying cigars instead and smoke tobacco products in private (I work at a learning center, so the last thing I need is my reputation being tarnished by a parent seeing me smoking).
