The only CAO I really liked were the old Don Douglas maduros way back in '98. Since then, they've slipped down a slope of crappy cigars with flashy advertising.
Hey CAO, here's a free bit of advice. Make a good cigar a first, then come up with nondescript packaging. Tatuaje seems to do OK with old style wooden cabinets.
Instead of a sticker from the AG warning against the effects of cigar smoking, every CAO box should have a sticker that states their motto:
"CAO, our packaging is so trendy you'll forget all about the crappy tobacco we use.."
I had a sample from RTDA it is absolutly horrible. Chalf this one up and another crappy overpriced cigar from CAO. They should have just stopped after the Cameroon & Maduro. Please no more gimmicks!
If you go back and read Savona's RTDA blog, he says something like "I tried one of these but it was my last cigar of the day, I guess I'll reserve judgement." A polite way of not offending a big advertiser by saying their product sucks.
To those of you that said you will buy a box so you can get the extremely tacky box these horrible cigars come in, you really should take a long look in the mirror and question yourself.

Absurdly expensive.

Or what online retailers will be carrying them?
The ones who like really huge profit margins as well as those whose consciences allow them to sell a crappy $1.50 cigar for $12 and still look at themselves in the mirror.

Next time I'll specify whether or not I want an answer from someone who actually knows something, or someone too poor to afford them so he'll just come up with a useless reply.
Excellent point. I'm also too poor to afford $295 Diesel brand t-shirts with silver screaming eagles on them, $150,000 metallic purple Chevy Camaro show cars with flames on the side and three subwoofers, and the $40,000 Picasso napkin sketch they're selling at Costco. And each and every one of the things I just mentioned must be the very best. After all, if it costs a lot of money and comes in a fancy package, it has to be impeccable, right? I mean, a company like CAO would never make a crappy $2 cigar, price it at $12, pack it in an ididotic neon box and then laugh their asses off when people actually buy them? Naaah...
Not sure when the vision will come out..apparently they are still having box problems. The cigars are done and are still aging. They should be quite different from the ones we smoked at RTDA because of the time. (They were done in the summer and have aging since then as they await the boxes.) But as of two weeks ago the boxes had not shown up at the factory.
And I do agree with Mike the BEST CAO ever was the Anniversario made by Don Douglas.
There was some sort of countdown for these on the CAO website. I'm not sure if that countdown is still going on. Personally, I think this cigar will probably fall short of most people's expectations just from the sheer amount of hype surrounding them. I hope I'm wrong through. I hope they are good cigars.

As for the lights, it looks like they are trying to market to the 20 year old high school dropouts who spend all of their money from delivering pizzas on "bling bling" for their tuner cars.
Lights aside, if they are a good smoke then I'll buy them!
Exactly it's like cigar rice. I'll have to try one of the smokes regardless.
Maybe they will be out in a few days but as of two weeks ago they hadn't received the boxes at the factory....mebbe they are loading them in Nashville.
