Has anyone tried these? I purchased a tin of three the other night on a whim. How do they compare to the other Opus X sizes? So far I have only tried the Fuente Fuente and Robusto sizes. The reviewers on top25cigar seem to like them but I would like to hear from you guys.

They're really good. If you're not used to a large full bodied smoke I would take my time with it though. A fresh Opus has the potential to lay you out.

This is a great cigar. It needs time to age though. Right out of the tin they are very young and humid. Let rest a month or so at 65% humidity or longer if you can. I smoked one recently with about a year and a half and it was sublime. Not as powerfull believe it or not as the smaller ring gages, (IMO) but very full flavored with spicy leathery overtones. Complex flavors like black cherry and caramel can be detected if your palet is able.
These need to be smoked at a low humidity to burn and draw properly.
If you like this smoke try La Flor Dominicana's limitado III. Very simular flavor profile and ready to smoke out of the box. Price point is better also.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the replies so far. I am pretty excited to smoke these, but I will have to wait quite a while. Unfortunately the humidity in my humidor is at about 73% right now (I like it around 63%) and I am having a tough time reducing it. Hopefully within a few days the spanish cedar strips I stuck in there will soak up some of the moisture. I am also quite excited to smoke some other Opus Xs which have been sitting for 6+ months in my humidor (Double Coronas, Petite Lanceros, Fuente Fuentes and Robustos.)

P.S. I picked up my first Oliva MB3 today (Double Robusto) how do you guys think these compare to Opus X?

Try adding some cat litter here : This is a picture of the bag I got from Pet Supermarket: http://www.ultrapet.com/litterpearls.html

As for the Opus. I purchased a Tin last Christmas. I smoked one immediately. After about 1/2 an hour, I was less than an inch into the cigar. I wasn't very impressed with the flavor so I'm letting the other two sit for a while. I've since smoked a #4 straight out of the box and absolutely loved it.
