I just smoked the 3rd one from the 5 packer I had picked up 2 months ago. They are the Roubsto Larga 6*54 - Super nice smoke for the price. Great taste from start to finish, good draw, nice looking ash, and plenty of good flavors. During the last few days I have smoked a Camacho Nat. Punch, Gispert, CAO Gold, Sancho Panza, and LFD. IMHO, this cigar was much superior. Anyhow, I just placed an order for box. I just hope they are as good as the 5 pack I got few months ago. Any thoughts on these?

I've only had 2, and despite the burn problems the flavor was excellent.
If you like these you should also try the 5 pack of JR Ultimate Toro Oscuro. They are made in the same factory I believe, and share a similar flavor profile.

I bought a box of the ERDM Robustos a few months ago. Great cigar, good taste, and cheap. We talked about these cigars at the Hurricane Herf and everyone seemed to enjoy them.
They are great cigars for the price. In my original post I did not include all the brand names that I had smoked over the last week either. There were few $10 sticks that were disapointing. Anyhow, thanks for the replies.

I personally prefer the robustos to the largas but it's just a size preference. They're a great cigar for the price. Good Honduran flavor. If you like these, try the Camacho Corojos and the SLRs. I like them in natural and maduro so you may want to try both. Pmpimbura is the resident Camacho guru so he can tell you more than I, but those Camacho SLR maduro rothschilds have a grip on me right now.

You mentioned some pretty good sticks. I would caution though, that just because something is more to your liking doesn't make it superior. You can prefer an ERDM to a VSG if you want but I don't think there is any contest as far as construction or consitency are concerned. Flavor is only one aspect of overall quality. Just food for thought. I like the ERDMs too but I wouldn't smoke anything made by villazon over an ashton, camacho, padilla, padron, or torano. In my opinion, their stuff may taste much better than altadis products its still a ways behind most of the other cigars mentioned as far as overall quality. HDM is another good example. I happen to love the dark knights very much but I have had mad problems with the regular HDM and even the excal construction in the past. Punch are another very good tasting cigar to me, but they also lack some of the richness and complexity, except maybe the PGP, that a camcho, padilla, or a LFD may have. Just my 02. but I started on mostly honduran stuff produced by villazon. It was my favorite for a long long time. Then I learned to appreciate the more subtle aspects of flavor, construction, consitency, and they were no longer my favorite. Only time will tell if the same will happen to you.

I also think ERDM Robustos are a great smoke for the money.I also agree with PMP there are much better smokes out there but that does not stop me from still enjoying an ERDM now and again. I canot afford to smoke Camacho 11/18's every day.

I keep going back and forth on the El Rey Del Mundo Robusto/Robusto Larga. They're definitely good for the price, but you do ultimately get what you pay for.
They always start off very tasty, but they usually lose my interest about 1/2 way through the smoke. The Largas especially seem to get ashy and muddled towards the latter half of the cigar. But for a little over $2 apiece in a 5-pack from JR, I can't really complain about them. The build quality is always very good. Great toothy, dark and oily wrapper, and they always burn very well for me.
I definitely prefer the JR ultimates in oscuro over the ERDM. I'm not even a dark wrapper kind of guy, but those are some great smokes.
