I do about 95% of my cigar shopping online because for me, it's more cost effective. Here are a few shops, but try doing a search for more sites. This question has come up MANY times.

I get very competitive prices and outstanding service from Holt's -- despite their being very prominent and the originators of the Ashton, La Aroma DC and Savoy brands.
They have rewards points program for on-line buys, weekly specials and ... my favorit...a closeouts section often featuring humidors and accessories.www.holts.com
JR is okay, but over the last year I think their pricing and selection has suffered. Although their prices on brand 5 packs are fantastic...a great way to stock some variety in you collection.

Andy has been running a spreadsheet for box purchases and prices at competing web sites. I also joined Cigar Cyclopedia (Richard Perlemans site). They give prices of a wide variety of cigars across several different websites.

People aren't smoking cigars to be trendy, cool or stylish. They're smoking cigars because they like them. Because they enjoy the experience. Because for about $5 they can spend an hour sampling one of life's greatest luxuries. -David Savona

I unfortunately made my first online order from the "T" word. I wish I had found this site first. Now I know better and the second order is from one of the most mentioned sites. Thanks to everyone for helping this newbie out.
Anyone know if the list of best places to buy online cigars spreedsheet was ever completed? If so I would love a copy.

The boxworthy spreadsheet that AndyMiami made also lists the vendors at which those smokes can be purchased. The list of vendors there should be a good start .

Thanks ! I sent him an email and should hear from him soon hopefully...now I need to go look at getting a bigger humidor for all that I want to try.....
I can now let you in on a dirty little secret: since in your innocence you ordered from the T folks, you will receive their catalog faithfully every month until you die. And then your wife/partner/significant other will receive the catalog faithfully every month until she/he dies. And so on. Don't ask me how I know.

I like the way they package the cigars they ship.
