If the cigars in one of my humidors feel very very firm, Why? I keep the house at a constant 73 degrees. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

It could just be that the cigar is firm. Some cigars feel firmer than others, case closed. Do they smoke bad or something? Why is them being firm a problem? More info.......

They smoke fine, was just curious because they were softer when they went in.. Just did not want to see 1100 dollars worth of cigars ruined if this were a problem. The cigar softned up after 4-5 min of drawing.

Cigars tend to get a bit softer as you smoke them, thats natural. Ive got a box of Brazilias that are really firm, but thats just how some cigars are.

I've only used it once and that was enough for me. Turned my cigars sort of crispy feeling. Strange...I've read about others that have had the same experience as well.

I don't like chemicals in my humidor. I replaced all the humidifiers in my humidors with Paradigm System humidifiers that use only distilled water. I love them and go a couple of months between recharging them.

PG Sucks.......I don't know anyone that really uses it. I've heard nothing but good stuff about beads and crystals, but my lazy azz still hasn't placed an order yet. Been meaning too though....
PG works pretty well. I used it for a while. It in no way shape or form affects the taste of your cigars as the actual "chemical" doesn't ever come anywhere near your cigars. It just happens to be a very clever way to utilize the fact that the vapor pressure above a mixture of 50%/50% PG to distilled water by volume happens to be exactly 70%. Dismissing it because it is a chemical is stupid. Technically distilled water is a chemical too. And the 100% natural cigars that we all smoke are filled with hundreds of chemicals.
Don't get me wrong, I like the beads better because they seem slightly more accurate. Although, I do have to fill mine up pretty frequently in southern california. This was rarely the case with PG filled credo.

The PG turned my cigars crispy even though the RH was right on. I only used it one time. This was after not using it for years, it just happened to come with a humi I bought, so I said what the hell and gave it a shot. Never used it after that and my cigars went back to normal. In all reality, I just don't see a need for it. Distilled water does just fine. I don't dismiss it because it's a chemical, I dismiss it because it sucks.
I wasn't so much responding to you IDesign as I was to diehard and many others I have heard talk about chemicals. I used PG for a long time with no ill effects and the chemical thing is just silly.

I have been using PG for about 4 years now and i havent noticed that it makes my cigars crispy. Do you mean crispy like when you squeeze them they crack?
