O.K. Who's had them and how are they? I mean the whole line. Don Kiki's, J.L. Salazar, and the regular Cuban Crafters.

Peace.

one got shipped as a sample to the cigar shop i work in. it was a churchill with a band that read cuban crafters. had a reddish wrapper, and very strong iron and metal notes. i didnt like it at all. not sure was line it was from, i would guess it was just the regular deal being that there were no other marks on the band.

I tried a Don Kiki Green Label a few months ago thatwas sent to me for free. It was one of the worst smokes I've ever had. They also sent me a Cuban crafters something or other for free that's still in the humidor because I'm afraid to smoke it Eek. Try searching cause I think there was a thread that talked about these cigars a while ago. My advice would be to stay away. You could do a lot better for your money.

I had their sampler about a half a year ago. I didn't like the cigars. What I did like was their line of cutters.
I got a SS round finger double blade cutter with a lifetime guarantee. After a while, it began to come apart and the screws began to fall out. I sent it back just like they said and a new one was delivered in less than a week.
That is service with a capital S.

I'd have to agree with this. I have the double guillotine (sp?) with wood handles that is gold plated. It's self sharpening and also has a lifetime guarantee. I've been using it regularly for about 6mos. and it's a wonderful cutter. Clips my cigars smoothe and clean everytime, and it looks pretty cool too. I'm about ready to pony up for a Xikar but, I'll still use the Cuban crafters cutter as well. It really is top notch.

The only Kiki Berger cigar I like are Cupido Toro Negros. A good well rounded Nicaraguan with some great flavors and medium strength. It's something about the way they ferment them I think. These are one of my favorite Nicaraguans, beating out regular Padron's and just behind PAM's. I haven't smoked one in a while, but just posting this has made me want to go and buy a box!

I've smoked the entire line. My order of preferences are the Salazar, Cuban Crafter robusto, Vegas esteli toro. These 3 are full bodied and very flavorful. If you like a cigar with some horsepower, I cannot imagine you not liking any of these 3.

That Vegas Toro Maduro was the worst cigar I've ever smoked Eek. If you like those dog rockets, there's a world of amazing cigars out there waiting for you.

Can't believe this thread is still being added to. I gave a noob a box of Salazars. He likes them. He'd smoke rolled oak leaves and like them though.
I had one. They're o.k. I've smoked much worse. I'd take a Salazar over a Diablo.

Peace.

This is late but I had one 2 weeks ago at a sit down in Charlotte. Don Kiki was there and I decided to buy a couple. They aren't bad! These were the first I've ever had. I still have one more sitting in the humidor!

That doesnt say to much comeing from you TT! Big Grin Razz Big Grin

Seriously though, which one did you have TT.
I had the green label and it was like smoking a grassy salt lick, and the red label was no better. I got a severe salty taste from both of them.

I take issue with cigars being compared to oak leaves. I spent many a fine afternoon when I was young smoking oak leaves wrapped in newspaper. One day my dad came out and I stuck the "cigar" up my sleeve and lit the inside of my sleeve on fire. This is real smoking at its best.

Sounds like you're talking about Don Kiki's. I had the brown label. I heard the green label was not good, but I've never tried one. The Cuban Crafters was just labeled as such.

So...my opinion doesn't count, hunh? Well then, you won't find fault in my opinion that you're ugly and your feet stink, right? Big Grin

Alright TT, I've gotta send you the rest of my Connies before you hurt yourself on those Don Kiki's.

I'll see how many I can jam in a priority box and get them right out to you. I'd overnight them since this appears to be an emergency, but that would defeat the purpose of Connies.

Peace.

To update my above post...November/December of last year I got a bundle of Don Kiki Nicaraguan Reserves in a size similar to a Short Story. They were a little rough around the edges at the time so I put them away in the cooler. Took them out last month and they had improved substantially. I would recommend trying them in singles to anyone, if you can find them.

Smokeall.com has some nice prices on these.

1. Salazar Robs/Torps-terrific
2. Cuban Crafters Robs/Compana(sp?)very good

The REDS/Browns/Whites/Greens never did much for me.
The Cupidos IMO are too one dimensional.
