The day before my departure to study abroad for the year, my family and several friends of mine had a little get together to wish me the best and to celebrate my 21st birthday before I left. We had an amazing beef and steak fajita dinner with onions, peppers, variety of cheeses, tortillas, all the fixin's. Needless to say the meal was amazing. We were washing down our fajitas with tasty Czech and Polish beer (Herolds and Okocim) that I grew to love on my last trip during the summer to Prague and Warsaw.

After stuffing ourselves with great Tex-Mex we headed outside to our deck to sit under our covered back porch. The weather was perfect: full moon, few clouds, no noticable wind, cool upper 80's. Outside we had setup several small odorless lamps giving just a little light to add to the evenings ambiance. I sparked up my Camacho 11/18 with my cedar matches to a delightful endless stream of deep, smooth smoke. It tasted delightful as a played with the smoke in my mouth and nostrils. Pops had a Joya de Nicaragua Antano Gran Consul, and my buddy the Deuce had an AVO Domaine robusto. Each equipped with a cup of great coffee and glass of B&B we sat there puffing away enjoying amazing cigars on a truly amazing evening.

My 11/18 was such a finger burner, except for a little burn issue towards the end, the taste only intensified, its smoothness was simply remarkable. I followed up a glass of B&B with some Hennessey vsop which only added to the amazing tasting experience. After our cigars we headed back inside the house for several servings of Rasberry Chocolate Mocha mousse cake made by a great bakery here in town. Such a fabulous evening. You can say what you will but there is nothing like enjoying cigars with people that you love on nights like these.

That about sums it all up right there. I have always said, the enjoyment of a cigar is determined by the environment in which is is smoked, rather than the cigar itself. Sounds like you had a great night. Have fun studying abroad.

This is very similar to what I was explaining to my wife a few nights ago. For me smoking a cigar is not just about the cigar, it’s about the companionship. It’s about being with interesting people who share similar interests. It’s about participating and sharing some of the better things in life. Recently, my normal smoking partner and I were able to introduce an artist friend of his and her friend to the enjoyment of cigars. I’m telling you, there is nothing like a woman who enjoys a good cigar.

Study well, and enjoy the time abroad, most of all, be safe.

Hey Suave smoker - what do you think of checkvar beer? I personally love the stuff. I think it is one of the best beers made.
