Hey Everybody! This was my first LFD DL Chisel Maduro. I had ordered a box from March of this year. I had been letting them sit this whole time. I finally decided to break one out of the box and give it a try. I had been expecting a cigar that would bring me to my knees as far as strength goes after hearing everybody else talk so much about that. Well, I guess those few months in the humi may have taken care of that. Well here it is.

This cigar had a great draw and dead even burn. I used the punch to cut it. After smoking it for a while, I decided I didn't like how the smoke was coming in this way (I couldn't taste the smoke), so I ended up using some cigar scissors. After that, I was able to taste it MUCH better.

The cigar was great in the flavors department. It started off with very little flavors, but that soon ended and the cigar openned up. It had a tiny hint of spice, with nice, sweet flavors developing. Chocolate and even mocha flavors then came along. The finish was full of woodsy and chocolately flavors, with a hint of eucalyptus. The aroma was wonderful, smelling like a fresh caffe mocha.

I enjoyed this cigar very much. It wasn't the full powered bomb that I had expected, but after finishing this thing, that didn't matter. I am curious to see what a little more of aging would do to it.

I hope you all may enjoy this smoke as much as I did. It wasn't the best cigar I have ever had, but it definately was a good one.

I'm dying to try these. I tried to order a box from my local tobacconist, but he just came up wiht another box of the naturals and said they didn't make them in the size I'd asked for, the Corona Gordas.

Infernal - Thats what i found with my box too. i smoked em along from day one till 5 months, and 4 mths was the flavor/power peak. the power had settled out from gut wrenching to just high power, and the flavors had developed nicely. at 5 months i didnt find it that good anymore. however, for the fun time of seeing how fast/how sick you can get, smoke em as soon as you get em. as the Captain warned me (PRC not the rum...) they lose power quick.

I like the Maduros a lot better, because the sweetness of the wrapper cuts down the power of the cigar. If you want only power then get the naturals, but if you want a good cigar smoke the Maduro. That is if you can find them anymore.

I originally favored the naturals. Now the maduros are getting better. They're still out there, I just ordered another box a couple days ago.

I've smoked a few of the LFD Double Ligero Chisels and have really enjoyed them. Each one I had, started and finished the same for me.

The start of the smoke has always been a little bitter, almost like burnt coffee, but not too overpowering. Towards the middle of the smoke, they all got nice and mellow, rich creamy tones, kind of oaky <that good, rich smokey flavor without being overpowering>. I haven't had the natural, but some how feel I might be disappointed.

I wonder if the Robusto size would be as good as the chisel.

i've got a box of the naturals that have been resting since april and they are great. smooth, strong and with flavor. the only maduros i've had were fresh out the box so i can't compare completely but so far the naturals are better imo. i've also smoked the chisel gordas and they are pretty good also, though not quite as strong.

I got a box of the LFD DL maduros a couple of months ago. This is a great cigar! After about a month or so in the humi they open up and the flavor begins to pop.

Glad to hear most of you enjoyed these as well. The only cigar that I have found to smell almost exactly like the mochas they sell here at my university (yes, I enjoy mochas). I wonder how they will taste in three months from now.
