My local AUTHORIZED dealer sells them for $10-$17 per stick depending on size. Anything more then that and you are getting hosed...unless your state has a crazy tobacco tax. Try and find an authorized dealer in your area.

I agree, I was in Vegas in January and they wanted $70 a stick at Mandalay Bay. My local guy sells them for $14 for the double corona. I just picked up 3 FF from the March batch for about $11 each. Hard to find though… my local guy only gets 3 boxes a quarter.
The only shop I can find them at here in my area of Southern California starts their pricing at $16 for the smallest size. The Forbidden X is $30. He even broke up some of the holiday box sets and was selling the BBMF for $60!

dventura15, be glad you didn't buy those Opus at the duty free shop, they were fake. Opus are never sold in the DR, all of Fuentes cigars are for export only.If you see them in country they are fake.

Last year I was selling Forbidden X's for $36 when I was at Caesars they were around $90. There are some factors to consider. Every state has a different tobacco tax and I am sure having space in the Forum is pricey. msrp does not include any taxes.
I only deal with authorized Opus retailers and I purchase my opus around the MSRP. The pricing in Vegas is out of control. My girlfriend, at the time, looked at me as if I needed therapy for spending about $950 on a box of Perfextion X. For me, Opus is my therapy!
I remember years ago spending above MSRP for a couple robustos. It was my first time trying Opus X. I think they were around $20 each. When I look back, I find it silly that I payed that much. I wouldn't spend above MSRP and actually frequently turn down purchases, since I rather spend on other brands.
In heaven there ain't no beer, that's why I drink it here.
I looked at the price of the Double Corona, rather than the Robusto. At the Davidoff store in Mandaly Bay, Las Veags, they are going for $57.00 a stick, same as Casa Fuente in Caesar's. Goes for $33.00 here in New Mexico.
On the other hand, the Diamond Crown Maximus Pyramid was $18 at Davidoff, but $40.00 at the Aladdin Casino. Go figure.

Well i got them form an online dealer for about 12-20USD per stick. Some stores in the Tri-state area in NY,NJ you will pay 18-50USD per stick messed up. And that is if they have them in stock.

The last one I bought in North Carolina was around $25.00 But I haven't priced any lately. I have a Dominican friend that brought a couple back from a family trip, and they were FREE!!!! The best price yet!!!

Actually, my understanding is that OpusX are not available locally in the DR. They are made in special free-trade zones and are exclusively for export. The DR is, sadly, overrun with counterfeits, and there are few cigars as worth counterfeiting as OpusX.
Not saying yours are fake, just be aware that to be genuine, they would have to have been exported from the DR, only to be reimported.

A bit of a harsh estimation IMO. I do agree though that a year or two in the humi does wonders for these sticks, so much so that I never buy them and smoke them.
I'm lucky to live 10 min from Holt's so I always have a nice rotation of aged stock to smoke

These cigars are just so darn strong when you find them on the shelves of cigar stores. I agree there is no definite length of time a cigar needs to be aged, but this blend of tobacco will benefit greatly from aging... While I disagree with the high scores the opus X scores in cigar aficionado's monthly tastings, I t is believable that a ten year old opus X could rate a 95.
