Stopped by my local B&M today and the gentleman behind the counter was raving about these things. I don't typically see anyone talk about them on here, but he insisted they are exactly like a Padron 1926(fairly lofty comparison, but I'll go with it). Is there anyone else out there who sees them as similar? If not, how to they rate? The one I bought(size #3) will be sitting for a little while so I am going to save my thoughts for that time.

I have a box of No.5 in my humidor and don't really think they are that much like a 26'. I have only had about two 26's so far so my opinion may not be the most accurate, but I just giving my two cents.

I've had 3 of the 5 sizes, and prefer the No. 2. Not exactly like the 26's, but I think the Broadleaf wrapper does impart some similar tastes. I find the Ashton VSG line more similar to the 26's though. All in all, another great smoke from Pete Johnson.

I would say that they are similar in that they do not burn harsh at any point. There are no flavors in either that "attack" the palate. I don't feel like it would be a stretch to say that those who enjoy the 26 would enjoy the La Riqueza line.

The differences, however, are astounding. The La Riqueza does not come anywhere near the complexity and delicacy of the flavors in the 26.

The 26 is better, IMHO. The La Riqueza great and more than worthy of becoming a regular buy for me.

As an aside, I feel like the La Riqueza is an astounding smoke because is shows such a fantastic departure from any of Pete's former blends. The opposite nature of the line- and the ability to play to both sides of the line have a lot of people impressed and talking.

Again, I feel like La Riqueza will become a staple for many. It certainly is in my humi.

I don't know which one I had but it was a large corona size. It was awesome! Great draw, burn, and it had a very clean taste. I also smoked a Padron 1926 the same night and I don't think you can compare the two. I think of a 1926 as a celebratory cigar that I will take my time with. I knew nothing of the La Riqueza's so I didn't think anything of it, but it quickly moved into my top 10 smokes. I sure am glad that a fellow BOTL sent me two of the petite corona's because I would have to drive an hour to get some more.

My favorite size is the Cabinet #5. It is a great little stick chalk full of everything the conn. broad leaf wrapper has to offer.

Great sticks, another winner from Pete.
