This evening, I noticed that a a local Sam's Club was selling "Bolero Presidente", 20-stick bundles for around $38.00. I believe that the stamp said that they are Honduran. Does anybody know anything about them?
Never heard of them and after a quick scan of some websites...nothing. If you want to go for a good bundle, look at the Famous Nicroaguan 3000 on famoussmoke.com as well as their rocky patel factory seconds. All will run you the same price and are quality smokes.
DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?
My local bar keeps them behind the bar. They taste ok after 12 beers but not before. Eveyone there thinks they are smoking a "great cigar" I just smile and keep quiet. Its just me but I would not buy one, they seem to be made just for drunk people.
I wish I would have known earlier that buying her diamonds would let me be allowed to smoke cigars in the house.
Never heard of them but who would buy from a wholesale club. There is no humidor. What shape could they be kept in even if they were descent cigars to begin with.

My neighbor buys RyJ from cosco for like 80-90 a box. Price wise its good, but it needs to spend time in the humidor to get to where it would be if you were to buy it from a humidified place like a B&M or an online retailer

FWIW,My local Costco started selling cigars by the box only since last Christmas. It took them a good 90 days or more but they finally got a large cabinet style humidor and they continue to sell very well. They must have 50-60 boxes stocked on a regular basis. I have only purchased 1 box,but they were priced right. I put them in my humidor for an addtional 6 months before I smoked one without complaints.
"My" local COSTCO has a large humidor and I have bought cigars from them in the past. The best deal that I found was a five pack of Montecristos with an anniversary ashtray on sale for $19.99. I bought a few.

Just bought three bundles. They were $36.38 for 25 sticks. I smoke 'em as 'everyday' cigars. The quality is undeven, but what can you expect for the price
You could get better bundles from Cigars International, The likes of Rocky Patel Indian Tabac, Rocky Patel Seconds, La Aurora Seconds, Nestor Reserve Maduro.
My CoSTCO has them as well. they used to just sit out on the pallett then they got the humidor. The door is always ajar when I go by then I see the pallet of Montecristos way up on the rack anyway.

You'd better re-think this. It's a false economy.
There are plenty of first quality cigars in the $45-$60 range. Why pay $37 for "uneven quality" when you can enjoy every single cigar in a box for just a few cents per stick more.
Plus, as Gespinoza noted, there are many other bundled cigars that are of consistent quality.
When I first joined these forums, I used to buy bundles and throw away a lot of crap as a result. Some of the more senior members helped me understand why this is pennywise but pound foolish.
If you insist on buying bundles, we can give you dozens of brands to try of good to excellent quality.
can you advise on which excellent quality bundles you would recommend?
thanks
I'll second Flor de Oliva.
You kinda have to shop around -- bundles are often seconds or "sandwich" cigars made from the trimmings of 1st quality smokes. You can also often get some great deals on discontinued brands that once sold for $100 or more a box.
Those are just a few options. Some are better than others, but all are better than what I imagine a Sam's Club bundle must be like -- and for just a few cents more a stick.
I have always liked the RP toro 2nds and selects from Famous as an everyday golf smoke. I have not tried the RP anniversary 90's or 92's from CI. Would be curious how they compare if anyone has tried them.
