I think the problem is he doesn't have enough cigars to go around, esppecially the Miami-made stuff, so he has no choice but to limit the number of accounts he opens. The impetus behind the line extensions (Tatuaje red and white band) as I understand it was to give retailers something else to sell while they're out of brown-band Taruaje while simultaneously allowing Pete to expand his business a bit. Whetever the case, Pete has earned whatever success he achieves.

I finally broke down and ordered the tatuaje sampler from Holt's. I hope they are as good as the hype.

We cant promise they'll be to your tastes but you'll certainly get your money's worth in terms of overall quality.

One word of advice: Pete is shipping these as fast as he can sell them due to high demand. Though the tobaccos are already well aged before being rolled, Tatuaje can usually benefit from an extra 3-6 months of box age to allow the tobaccos to better marry, which allows for a more balanced and harmonious flavor and aroma.

If you buy by the box there is a box date stamped on the bottom that I use as a guide. Otherwise, with singles, smoke one or two and let the rest age for 3-6 months, then come back and try them again. I'm perfectly happy to smoke them right out of the box but they do get a little better with age.

Well, there's no guarantee that you'll like how they taste but you will certainly

Thanks for the advice.I probably will smoke one when I get them and let the rest age for awhile. I have many cigars of different ages I'll just have to be patient. Ienjoy OPUSX, pam64@26, anejo, and ashton so hopefully I'll enjoy these.

Extensioncord,
You're right, they are beautiful cigars, my point I guess is, if you were going to spend $10-15 on a cigar, would you buy an Ashton VSG, PAM64 or a Tatuaje? And of course, the brown label is made in the US which raises the labor cost significantly. Don't get me wrong, I have several sleeping in my humidor for 6 months or so.

All three! I still think the Tatuaje is the most meticulously made of the three, though. But I love Cuban cigars and the Tatuaje has a decidedly Cuban style to it, while the VSG and PAM are different animals entirely. I agree completely though -- the labor costs put Tautaje at a disadvantage in terms of bang for the buck. I wouldn't want to choose between any of the cigars you mentioned, let alone Habanos like Partagas SD#4, Monte Edmundo, Hoyo Short Robusto, RyJ Short Church, Bolivar Coronas Extra...all of them are less than Tatuaje too if you buy right. Oh, can't forget Camacho Diploma, Fuente Don Carlos...but I keep coming back to Tatuaje as the style of cigar that I really love.

I agree 100%. I love Tatuaje cigars, but only after being in my humi for several months. When I purchased my first Tatuaje, I of course had to smoke one right away. It was very good but not up to my expectation.

After letting them rest awhile, I gave them another shot. The difference was amazing and the smoke was incredible!

I just got my sampler from Holt's. It is to cold to smoke tonight so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try one.
