I just received an invite to a Troya event sponsored by an area cigar shop. The postcard shows cigars, wine, and Troya-branded chatchkies.

Anybody ever heard of Troya? Might stop by to get some samples, but hoping to find out ahead of time whether it is worth the ride.

I've had a Troya before, and it wasn't bad. It's been about a year I think since I've had one, but I was pleasantly suprised. I'm not sure if they have many brand extensions, but the one I had was fairly mild, similar to a Gispert. It also only cost around $3 - $4 I believe.

Attended the Troya event at an area shop today. A selection of Corojo, Conn, and Cameroon wrappers. I tried a Fuerte (corojo robusto, $6.29) at the shop, and I must say it was a good experience in all respects. Burn, ash, draw and temperature were all well controlled with no effort. Immediate impressions of an earthy, nicely pepper-spiced smoke in the medium-bold range. It was not overwhelming in the least, and remained a smooth, flavorful cigar until I burned my fingertips.

If the rest of my test sticks perform as well, I would say it's well worth having in the humidor - especially if I can get it at one of my more reasonably-priced shops.
